IMO, the creativity of NBA's marketing team is on another level compared to other professional leagues. I remember the 'where amazing happens' commercial with the black and white image, slowed video coupled with the slow piano soundtrack was epic in every sense. Give me a commercial of nfl's or mlb that strikes you with its visuals and audio. The effectiveness of these commercials to the casual tv viewer is whole another story.
Not only those but... <object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/LqCB9S9AZJM?fs=1&hl=en_US"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/LqCB9S9AZJM?fs=1&hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object> ...These had everyone making a copy of them.
they do some amazing things with videos its crazy.. the videos of them when they are young are real they just add that extra stuff in. remember the gatorade commercials where MJ misses "The Shot" in cleveland and ehlo is jumping around instead of jordan.. and smh at whoever suggested they make a video of scola scooping ice cream, unless there is actual footage out there of a young luis scola working in an ice cream shop..
They could at least try to make it look more believable, Durants not even looking in the same direction of that guy.
yeah, someone completely missed the point of the commercials. guess what? in 2005, kevin durant wasn't in the nba, but they tell him he is going to be...omgzhwataturriblecomurcial!
To me the Durant commercial is the best one. He laughs in the man’s face when he mentions the Oklahoma City Thunder and Serge Ibaka. I mean who wouldn't dismiss that man as a major capital Fool, if you find that man creepy you would act like Durant does even more. Who of us saw an NBA franchise in Oklahoma back in those days? I would name you 10 places before OKC that I though more likely for the NBA to expand upon. The Thunder? Are you ****ing kidding me? Serge Ibaka, seriously? Go watch it again!
and this one <object width="640" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/pP2NfkKoqjw?fs=1&hl=en_US"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/pP2NfkKoqjw?fs=1&hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="640" height="385"></embed></object> by far my favorite commercial
Not an NBA commercial, but it has Derrick Rose in it. My favorite commercial on espn <object width="640" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/9IA6MWVlck4?fs=1&hl=ko_KR"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/9IA6MWVlck4?fs=1&hl=ko_KR" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="640" height="385"></embed></object>
Leave the marketing and creativity to the WWE. Then again, not much seperates the NBA and the WWE these days. At least the NFL is consistent when it comes to the spirit of competition. Commissar stern did do an excellent job in globalizing the game.
no love for t-mac??? <object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/wi0CrKrMcUk?fs=1&hl=en_US"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/wi0CrKrMcUk?fs=1&hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object>
There should be one for Kobe already. ( Man in his mid 30s approaches 17 year old kobe getting out of a limo with moesha.) Man says: "Do you know that fourteen years from now people will be debating if you're better than Michael Jordan?" Kobe: Bro, I'm better than Michael right now. (wipes his sweat on man's suit jacket)
The Durant one is the best. His dismissal of the guy just tells you how he was just a kid, not knowing his destiny yet. Also, the ESPN Ovechkin commercial is funny as hell, the hot sauce one not so much.
FULL version of the nash one: <object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/OaNDuOV1q-U?fs=1&hl=en_US"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/OaNDuOV1q-U?fs=1&hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object>
