This rule would be perfect if they amended it to apply not only to all coaches, but all NBA "analysts" as well. Especially ones that constantly take jabs at others for their "ugly suits". I'm lookin at you Charles
To be fair, NBA did have some semblance of an anti-flop rule couple seasons ago. Players were supposed to get fined for obvious clear cases of flopping. Then the league changed it to just "monitoring the trend" and didnt issue fines... I think, if anything, they're more concerned with the upcoming collective bargaining agreements and looming lockout. They probably don't want to look into flow of the game issues, just the bank flow issues. This doesnt add together too neatly and looks like "conspiracy", but: - League focusing on lowering referee pay when combined ref pay is a drop in the bucket compared to overall team salaries. Kevin Martin this year will make about as much as all the refs combined. - Having player's censor themselves more now on tech calls. - Making coaches have collars. It kinda comes across as not wanting to give anyone any favors
What a stupid idea. Stern is really pathetic. One would hope that all this energy could be focused on improving the refs and the play on the court, not what sort of shirt the coach and staff have to wear on the sidelines. Just incredibly lame.
I wish the the players and fans get to have a say on what Sperm and the higher ups in the NBA get to wear.
