Don't worry -- that logo and jersey are going to look beautiful when you see T-Mac and Yao standing in them, side-by-side.
I guess we would have been naive to think that we would not see a post this early about uniform change!! Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh!!
Oski, When I said "they were both one in the same" I didn’t mean literally. I meant the motivation behind there creations were the same. Rather then using graphic logos, (i.e. the flying dildo) these logos are more like symbols used to help fans identify the teams. Keep in mind though......the Yanks "Interlocking NY" symbol was designed in a completely different era and time. Back when there "Interlocking NY" logo was introduced, it was considered sleek and simple, yet timeless. Now while the Rockets logo has some more things incorporated into it then just an "R," keep in mind that the Rockets probably had the same objective in designing this logo as the Yankees did back then. In this day in age, taking the Yankee route and having a plain "R" for your team's logo would be like committing merchandising suicide. With the pressures of merchandising and the money to be made there, this simple "R" logo had to have some creativity to it for it to appeal to customers and sell. The Rockets managed to add that creativity and still keep the logo simple and sleek, which is not easy to do. After all, it could have been worse......don't believe me? See the Blue Jays T-Bird logo from last year. They tried to pull the same feat as the Rockets (simple logo with a lil creativity).....didn’t come out so well to me. After one season, the logo was hastily replaced with the current new logo. Now Oski.......how would you like it if the Tim and the rest of the marketing staff decided to take the "Toronto approach" to adding creativity to a simple logo......and maybe add the famed "flying toothed dildo" Rocket to the side of the current "Type R" logo? I knew just the thought of that would make some of you gag...... That's why form my point of view, the Rockets marketing team did a fantastic job on this new logo. And NO, Tim is not giving me any free-be's for saying this....
