I understand the frustration that a lot of people are feeling, but it's just too easy to play armchair quarterback (sorry for mixing sport metaphors) and second guess his calls. Besides, McHale's role is a lot more than just game-time decision making.

As long as McHale has the confidence of the front office and the players, then I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt. I gotta believe that we're 33-29 because of his leadership, not in spite of it.

I guess that is the difference between the fans of Mchale and the others. Some of us believe in the system, players, GM and give very little credit to the coach. Who created the system we use exactly? Many doubt it was Mchale. Do you give the players credit for the chemistry or Mchale...technically you dont need to like your coach to like your teammates. I am not trying to argue and totally understand your point of view. A lot of us believe that the team could be much better than our record maybe even contending for the 5 spot. I actually am quite happy with keeping all the guys we have now and seeing how they will develop. Mchale doesnt need the whole team to like him just Les and probably Harden repped good post

Agreed, but 5 is a bit too stratospheric, even in my wildest fantasies. I would love to be a fly on the wall during practices to see how things get actualized during game-time.

On the other hand, garbage , by any other name, would still stink like hell.

To all the Mchale Fans, why exactly was he hired? What was in his resume' that can be justified with Morey's analytics?

I remember they tried to justify his hiring by saying its a transition period just to find a better coach. Mchale has very little experience as a coach and very little to show for it.

If we were looking for a holdover coach why not reward players who played hard for the Rockets? There are a list of former rockets legends that could've been given a chance to coach the team:

Kenny Smith, , Robert Horry, Mario Elie, Sam Cassell, Hakeem Olajuwon, Otis Thorpe, Calvin Murphy, Clyde Drexler.

Instead we hire someone from the Boston Celtics who had very little experience and had a very dismal performance as a coach prior to his hiring. He had worn out his welcome in Minnesota because many fans thought his loyalty was still with the Celtics when he traded away Kevin Garnett.

 

Of course. I'm sure any name calling is just light hearted fun.
