I don't understand why anyone would be torn over losing an MTV award. Aren't the VMA's for music video awards in the first place? Not the actual songs, but the videos? I know Kanye puts alot of effort into his videos, but I wouldn't feel that bad knowing that the judging of pure musical talents by MTV are somewhere between non existent and not there.
After jamming it more last night, I must say it grew on me more but still not better than the 1st two. He dropped off lyrically and seemed to repeat alot of old lines or reused them in hooks. My favorites are "Everything I Am", "Big Brother", "The Glory". Two of my favorite lines: "I know that people wouldn't usually rap this but I got the facts to back this just last year, Chicago had over 600 caskets man, killin's some wack **** oh, I forgot, 'cept for when *****'s is rappin' do you know what it feel like when people is passin'?" -------- "man the game all messed up how i suppose to stand out when everyone get dressed up so yeah at the grammies i went ultra travolta yeah that tuxedo mighta been a little gweedo but with my ego ,i can stand there with a speedo and still be looked at like a fukin hero" Like I've said before, Kanye's worse material is still bettern than 50's classic material. Don't know how reliable this is but Kanye's already outsold 50 by 200,000: http://www.news.com.au/entertainment/story/0,23663,22406293-7484,00.html?from=mostpop I noticed yesterday at the store that people who were buying 50's album also bought Kanye's, but I think those who choose between only buying one or the other, most are choosing Kanye's. You think this is better than his first two? I love the production and beats but the lyrics for the most part are not as good.
Picked it up yesterday, really enjoying it so far. Different vibe than the first 2 albums, kinda an epic feel. It may not be able to go track-for-track with College Dropout, but as an entire album I think it works better.
did anyone catch clash of the titans last night on BET? I heard Jay-Z came out, if anyone could upload it I would appreciate it. On Topic: This album is great. 4/5 The only track I don't like is Barry Bonds feat. Lil Wayne.
yeah i bought mr. west cd yesterday i have to say i love it theres only two tracks i didnt like... my friend bought 50's and it was garbage with the exception of 3 songs.. clash of the titans was kinda cool it just seemed like 50 was trying to hard to rebel and kanye was just chillin....
My favorite song on the album is "Flashing Lights", and the only 2 tracks that I really don't like are "Drunk and Hot Girls" and "Barry Bonds". Also anyone know anything about the song "Bittersweet" with John Mayer. I know it was leaked a while ago but wasn't it supposed to be on this album?
I think Bittersweet was itunes only I'm not too sure though. I have to agree with you on Flashing Lights. Something about that beat I just find amazing, I think he could have done a little bit better on the lyrics though but its still one of my favorite songs non-the-less.
http://www.reuters.com/article/ente...RSS&feedName=entertainmentNews&rpc=22&sp=true "LOS ANGELES (Billboard) - Kanye West looks set to win the closely watched duel with rival rapper 50 Cent for the No. 1 slot on next week's U.S. pop album chart, according to preliminary sales data issued Wednesday. West's "Graduation" sold an estimated 437,000 copies during its first day of release Tuesday, ahead of 310,000 for 50 Cent's "Curtis" and 107,000 for country star Kenny Chesney's "Just Who I Am: Poets and Pirates," according to a new "Building Chart" devised by tracking firm Nielsen SoundScan. The Building Chart gives an early look at how the race is shaping up for SoundScan's final charts, which post projected national sales each Wednesday morning, extrapolated from a panel of merchants representing more than 90% of the U.S. music market. Some pundits project West will surpass 750,000 copies for the week, breaking the 2007 record of 623,000 copies held by rock band Linkin Park's "Minutes to Midnight." But West did better with his last album, 2005's "Late Registration," which debuted with 860,000 copies. 50 Cent also will fall far short of the 1.1 million start for his last album, 2005's "The Massacre.""
The album is great. Its refreshing to hear an album like this, especially with all the "bubble gum" rap out there right now. and if you havent heard, Lupe Fiasco- dumb it down, you are def missing out on a classic song, the first verse is simple amazing
What exactly is he pissed about!? Not winning an award or something!? There were too many comments on it to find out exactly what.
Kanye is a spoiled jackass who thinks he is so great. I admit that he is a great producer/rapper but that's no reason to be a douche about it.
Nevermind. Come on Kanyeezie. Can't be actin like Paris Hilton. Just look at your bank account and smile.
50 is exactly the same. He is a pompous prick who thinks that because little 14 year old kids buy his albums he's King ****.
Looks like fidy is losing: http://www.billboard.com/bbcom/news/article_display.jsp?vnu_content_id=1003639442 He will retire hahaha
50 on Howard Stern this morning blamed his record company for not promoting him like Kanye's record company. Also said think of ESPN if you don't want to *** too fast. 50 also don't like to eat *****.
