So they souped up a Mustang. Sweet. Bottom line- You don't see Corvette, Viper, etc... with low end 6 cylinder models. I feel offering those models cheapens the image of the performance car. It looses its elite feel. I realize those vehicles are targeted at a different audience. I am just saying. My opinion so deal with it and stop crying. And I never said a damn thing about the V6 Firebird. So now I will. Supergay
Blasphemous Look, I'm the first to admit that the 80s Firebird was a total P.O.S. car, but KITT was a Trans Am, not a Mustang that would be like making the General Lee out of a Firebird or Herbie out of a Mini Cooper
This isn't KITT though, it's not a remake. Well, he's called KITT, but he's the Three Thousand as opposed to the Two Thousand. KITT and Michael Knight will be in it though. It's a completely different car, like a whole new character basically.
They are a different class of car though. The mustang is supposed to be compared to the camero, not the corvette. Plus the corvette has no business being mentioned as an equel to the viper either.
Corvette Z06 is a beast and has every right to be mentioned alongside a Viper. That's what I was targeting after my 350Z. But since the new Skyline GTR is coming to US, my plans have changed.
This is true (except the Viper/Corvette part). Which is why I felt KITT should be something more prestigious. Maybe the appeal was that it was a working glass car? Body style wise.
What's cheesy is that on top of being a Mustang (which is obvious), the show is advertised as sponsored by Ford. This show is going to be one big Ford lovefest, maybe Toby Keith can have a cameo singing about the merits of his truck. I bet next year the show will be sponsored by Toyota and K.I.T.T. will be a Lexus...
You can hear Val Kilmer doing the voice here: <iframe height="339" width="425" src="http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/22425001/vp/23182125#23182125" frameborder="0" scrolling="no"></iframe> Also, some cheesey KITT dialogue in Jay Leno's Garage: http://www.jaylenosgarage.com/video/video_player.shtml?vid=215960 KITT was a Trans Am last time, was that a "prestigious" car?
If the Skyline had a cheaper 4 cylinder model then he would think it was ghey. At one time the Mustang had a V8, V6, and I4 as engine options.
is it just me or has Val Kilmer really fallen on hard times. This dude was f'n Doc Holiday. I wanted to die of tuberculosis cause of his performance.
He owned that role, you are in a small minority if you think he was terrible in that movie. "I'm your huckleberry."
Hey, I didn't have it wrong, one tiny typo really threw that post off. Glad you changed it BTW, I've been watching bits of this show during the break and I'm not liking it too much. Does KITT really need to have his body fix itself after every bullet hits it? Sometimes the low tech approach of sparks is all you really need.
