I shop there all the time. Maybe that's why I can afford to be a contributing member.

Are you serious? I didn't think clothing stores existed outside of Wal-Mart, Target, and Kohl's.

I am frugal about clothes. If I go to a department store, I will only be shopping at the 75% off section.

    Congrats on the new job.

As far as suits go, Jos. A Banks usually has sales (almost every week it seems) where their suits are 50% off. So you could get a $500 suit for $250 or a $1000 suit for $500. (Those are the two price brackets for their suits). If you are looking to spend less than $250, I would suggest SuitMart or K&S. You can find something there for $200 or less maybe. Those suits won't last as long, but they are perfectly normal and nice enough to wear (just not everyday or anything).

I start in about 2 weeks. Look like it will be true business casual (button down shirt and slacks 3-4 days a week) and a suit when we have outside guests, at least once a week, sometimes twice.

I have a Navy suit, a Brown suit (both Ralph Lauren) and several sport coats, but I don't think I can get away with the sport coats. So i need to buy at least 3 more suits.

I got some really good advise from my dad (felt like a kid again) about suits. He was a partner at Arthur Andersen consulting division before the crash so he knows all about expensive suits and good quality. He mentioned Jos A Bank also.

Thanks for the input on shopping. Would appreciate any other advise you can throw in.

    Congrats dude.

If you like some nice suits, you may try Off Fifth which is the Saks outlet. You can get some nice designer suits there for about $300 bucks and up.

I get all my suits custom made in Thailand when I visit. They cost the same as a nice pair of pants here.

Went to Jos A Bank this weekend and picked out some Traveler's Suits. They are by far the best cut suits I have ever owned plus they say that each thread of wool is treated to resist water. I was like "ya uh huh". Guy said "let me show you what I am talking about".

He then took the jacket off of me and poured a cup of water on the jacket. It beaded up like it was on a waxed car. He just moved it around the jacket with his finger like it was mercury (straight out of T2). It was trippy.

$ 299 per suit and they have flat front pants as an option. :D
