If this trade goes down, they could finally underachieve together!

5 years of McEdiocrity - give him another chance!
5 months of Artest - enough is enough!

If you really think about LAST years situation, its basically Battier for Vince. I would do that easily..

How about the fact that Vince will be the better #2 option to Yao than Mac has been this year. I knew it was Ron for Vince when I posted my message.

The way Battier has been sucking, NJ is going to cringe at that tossed salad.

I went back and watch the recording...this is EXACTLY what Chris Broussard said...
Several playoffs teams have interest in Vince, most notably the Houston Rockets and I am told the Rockets are willing to part with Ron Artest, put a package around Artest to get Carter. The Nets are really interested in getting Artest, but the interesting thing is the Rockets are willing to break up there so called "BIG 3".
...unless I didn't understand his English well, this is exactly what he said.

I can see Jersey doing this one. They are not looking to win any time soon. I feel for Shane if this all goes down though.

I've been critical of Artest but I couldn't agree more. Artest plays well with Yao and has had some of his most productive games for us with McGrady out of the lineup. But Morey may have inside information that Artest won't resign with us and is trying to get something for him.

Being the poster child for McGrady hate, surely you shouldn't believe anyone would take him and is $20 million from us.....?

So what's the issue here again?

    Lol
To retain Battier, our defensive stopper(when healthy)...
I threw in Alston and Head on the trade machine and it worked out.
    Artest, Alston, Head for Carter.
Brent Barry would of course get more minutes at the point.
But it would be pretty risky nonetheless without a solid point guard besides Barry.
I consider Brooks more of an offensive burst off the bench.

I say do it! It' better than risking the loss of ron for absolutely nothing.
This experiment has obviously failed and we must move on

I would bet that Les is also trying to get Yi Jianlian here as part of the package.

Les would then have the China monopoly.

Yi would actually be the player at PF they've been looking for I think... someone who could shoot and extend the defense and give Yao space.

    That contract is cancer.

I'm all for upgrading our very lackluster and underachieving roster but to mortgage more of our future flexibility on the slim chance that this core group right now (with the addition of VC) could make any noise the rest of the season would be downright stupid.

But I guess it'll be ok to have Carter around after the 2010 season when everyone, including Yao, might bolt.
