Do you guys really want ANOTHER Tmac on this team...Carter is another Tmac, only thing is...he's doing what Tmac did at the end of last season. Pretty soon both will be hurt coming in and out of the lineup and throwing smiles out there while the team is being embarrassed by a division scrub.
get your stats out and look at the last 4 or 5 years he has played.....this year he played 52 games fg 44% 21ppg, 3pt fg% 40.........last year 76 games fg% 46 21ppg, 3pt fg% 36.......2006/2007 82 games fg% 46 26ppg, 3pt fg% 36......2005/2006 79 games, fg% 49 25ppg, 38% 3pt........2004/2005 played 77 games.........my point is he is on the court more than tmac and is a hell of a whole lot more efficient....so don't say he is like Tmac he is way better about being on the court..
I would rather have the younger Corey Maggette, but I can see their thinking in getting Carter....I Personally believe he is a bit old.....but do believe the team should trade Ron for something. DD
I want neither, not at their salaries, years, or reps. I think if TMac is done for the year then Ron-Ron stays. I think if TMac is traded then Ron-Ron stays. I think Battier to Portland is realistic, and depends on Amare or other Rox possibilities.
If we keep Ron I would do a Battier for Outlaw deal. Then wait until next year and either let Mac expire or trade him for a PG or SG and center. Alston Artest Outlaw Scola Yao Brooks Barry Wafer Landry Hayes
I'm not talking about stats, i'm talking about his mental approach to the game...and he's been accused of the same crap Tmac has (quitting on his team) why do you we want two guys like that. Sure Tmac might get revitalized "Oh my cousin! Yay!" but when things don't go right, we could have two guys quitting on the team.
I think the safest trade to do at this point is if Minnesota would accept it would be a Mike Miller and 1st round draft pick for Ron Artest and Luther Head.
It is a risk without a doubt. His mental approach has improved recently. I expected him to quit on NJ after Kidd and RJ left but he has shown some leadership on the team. I'm reluctant to have him here and he does go beyond the 2010 FA Class list but if Ron is really on the way out as Clutch says,I would be OK with getting VC.
Rockets Linked To Acquiring Vince Carter? Posted: 2/17/2009 3:11:00 AM Source: Al Iannazzone of the Bergen Record Vince Carter practiced at the Toyota Center on Monday. He may be calling this building home later in the week. The Nets and Rockets have exchanged trade proposals and continue to talk, according to league sources and sources close to the Nets. One scenario has Carter and Josh Boone going to Houston for Ron Artest, Carl Landry and Luther Head. But another Texas team remains very much alive in the Carter sweepstakes. The San Antonio Spurs’ package for Carter would include Roger Mason Jr., George Hill and Bruce Bowen, the sources said. The Nets would have to make other moves to clear roster room for the additional players they take back. Nothing is imminent at this point, but the trade deadline is Thursday. Things are expected to heat up before then. "It’s one of those things you can’t control," Carter said. "They know how I feel about being here, how I’m happy here, the whole nine [yards]. "If it happens it happens. I do my job regardless." Carter, who could play one of his last games as a Net here tonight, was the subject of numerous trade rumors over All-Star Weekend. The three Texas teams and Cleveland have shown the most interest in the Nets’ best player. General manager Kiki Vandeweghe has spoken to Carter about what’s happening, an indication that something could transpire. The Nets share the same affinity for Carter as he does for them. They don’t want to trade him, but if they do, it likely would be for economic reasons first. The Nets are losing millions and Carter is guaranteed $33.6 million for the next two seasons with a $4.5 million partial guarantee for 2010-11. Artest is in the final year of his contract. Landry, a tough second-year power forward, makes $3 million next year and has a team option for the 2010-11 season. Head, a fourth-year point guard, can be a free agent after this season. It makes sense for the Rockets. They need another scorer with Tracy McGrady battling a knee injury. Taking Artest could be risky for the Nets because of his checkered past.
I expected that and also feared that the addition of Landry was going on to any such potential trade.Thorn is an experienced and tough negotiator, but DM is not a pushover. If this is true, than DM must have insisted on adding Josh Boone in return for Landry. I don't like it at all, but I can sense a feeling of a real need to get something in return for moving Artest. I don't know why the Rockets feel that Ron must go,Clutch did mention there were reasons for it. It's a very unhappy situation, I still hope it's redeemable but it doesn't seem that it can. If Ron does get traded to the Nets,it will be for his expiring contract. I don't see him fitting well in their system even with his best behavior. My gut feeling is that Ron will be traded for Mike Miller at the end of the day,but I could be totally wrong. If that were to happen,it wouldn't be good enough for the Rockets in my opinion.
