Vince would be what we all thought T-Mac was going to be. he's an efficient scorer who can hit from the outside as well as finish at the rim. Yao would legitimately make Vince Carter's job easier. For some reason T-Mac is worse with or without Yao.
I would'nt mind Vince coming to Houston for either T-Slack or Ron. Yes Vince is old but we need to win a championship now. He explodes to be basket and finished with ease and Yao presence will make his game a whole lot easier. DO IT!!
Reggie Miller has gone to great lengths to defend Ron Artest as a teammate and basketball player... they are still good friends according to Reggie, who shares this information on the air and in interviews with Dan Patrick.
Expounding on the smokescreen theory, how about this. Houston Trade Breakdown Change in Team Outlook: +9.5 ppg, +3.9 rpg, and -2.7 apg. Incoming Players Grant Hill 6-8 SF from Duke 11.0 ppg, 4.8 rpg, 1.8 apg in 28.8 minutes Amare Stoudemire 6-10 PF from Cypress Creek (HS) 20.8 ppg, 8.2 rpg, 2.0 apg in 37.1 minutes Leandro Barbosa 6-3 PG from Brazil (Foreign) 12.9 ppg, 2.4 rpg, 1.8 apg in 22.6 minutes Outgoing Players Aaron Brooks 5-11 PG from Oregon 10.3 ppg, 2.0 rpg, 2.6 apg in 22.9 minutes Carl Landry 6-8 PF from Purdue 9.3 ppg, 5.1 rpg, 0.7 apg in 21.2 minutes Tracy McGrady 6-8 SG / SF from Mount Zion Christian Academy (HS) 15.6 ppg, 4.4 rpg, 5.0 apg in 33.8 minutes Phoenix Trade Breakdown Change in Team Outlook: -9.5 ppg, -3.9 rpg, and +2.7 apg. Incoming Players Aaron Brooks 5-11 PG from Oregon 10.3 ppg, 2.0 rpg, 2.6 apg in 22.9 minutes Carl Landry 6-8 PF from Purdue 9.3 ppg, 5.1 rpg, 0.7 apg in 21.2 minutes Tracy McGrady 6-8 SG / SF from Mount Zion Christian Academy (HS) 15.6 ppg, 4.4 rpg, 5.0 apg in 33.8 minutes Outgoing Players Grant Hill 6-8 SF from Duke 11.0 ppg, 4.8 rpg, 1.8 apg in 28.8 minutes Amare Stoudemire 6-10 PF from Cypress Creek (HS) 20.8 ppg, 8.2 rpg, 2.0 apg in 37.1 minutes Leandro Barbosa 6-3 PG from Brazil (Foreign) 12.9 ppg, 2.4 rpg, 1.8 apg in 22.6 minutes Why PHX does it - They get TMAC's soon to be expiring contract and two younger players who may grow into more than they already are which is solid NBA rotation guys. Why we do it - Get rid of TMAC and actually get a talented big in Amare in return. Also a solid backup point ot fill Brooks shoes, Grant was thrown in to make the salaries work but if PHX wants to keep him there are a number of other guys listed as on their roster who could fill his shoes. Rotation Rafer, Barbosa, Barry Wafer, Barry, Barbosa, Head Battier or Artest either starting Amare, Scola, Hayes Yao, Deke, Scola, Amare (depending on matchups) I actually like this team alot, more than our current group and I have to agree that moving Tracey would be more desirable than moving Artest in an "I want to win with winners / players who actually seem to care" type of way.
Are you crazy. This team may not have gotten out of the first round but they never had issues getting along until Ron Ron came along. Now if you want to trade Tracy because you don't think he can play anymore that's fine, but he's not the cancer.
Vince is Frat and I show much love for the Ques. However, can u imagine what our D would look like with him and Shemac. We would become NY and GS over night. They would take turns on the IR with a plethora of excuses. Love u frat but stay in Jersey!!
wouldnt you want to trade Tmac for Carter instead? I mean Carter and Artest would mesh well together. What are the rockets thinking?? oh wait, NO ONE wants TMAC!!!
I would rather keep luther and do this trade: http://games.espn.go.com/nba/features/traderesult?players=11~25~2834~136&teams=17~17~17~10&te=&cash=
Would someone please explain the unusually large interest in Keyon Dooling on these boards? I'm not very familiar with him. What would he bring to the team? Just an honest question.
That is a horrible trade idea. Who's going to play starting point? Brooks, he's not ready, IMO. Even if he is who's going to be our back up point? Luther is doing ZERO for this team right now. Why in the world wouldn't you want to get rid of him?
Barry because one of the main reasons for getting him was that he could play PG for us from time to time
Why does every "big three" example have to come back to the Celtics? Those guys all were the metaphorical "the man" on their teams, they were entirely incapable of carrying teams by themselves so Ainge thought "How brilliant would it be to stockpile them together on a team in the East?" Well, it worked and not only did it worked by they also defied odds by disregarding any expected growing pains, chemistry issues or identity issues . They simply showed up from Day 1 and were ready to kill and take names. That's very rare in this sport and it's something I think a lot of people expected the Rockets to emulate. I've seen Vince make big shots before so I assume the answer to some of my questions (4th quarter/last shot) would be him. I don't have a problem with that and it's true he has been 'the man' before, he just isn't anymore. I've seen the Nets play a lot this year and it's usually Harris carrying the Nets. Vince probably still has "it" though -- at least we should all hope if this deal goes down.
Okay then how about this trade: http://games.espn.go.com/nba/featur...3217~532&teams=10~10~10~10~21~21~21&te=&cash=
I would do that trade in a heart beat the only problem is the Sun's wouldn't EVER! You can purpose a trade no problem but at least make it realistic dude...
If we can pull another trade for a point then I wouldn't hesitate pulling the trigger. The problem is finding a decent point with the pieces left, if we can find a taker for Shane Battier + then I'm sure we can get something at least a tad better than Rafer.
