Vince actually does try....have you been watching basketball this year at all? He drives to the hole and finishes, plus he will know there is a chance to make a real run in the playoffs so he will be motivated
imo the rockets get worse with your proposed trade idea. please stop kidding yourself with labelling others with the hate tag. if anyone can't see or admit how much mcgrady is hurting the rockets right now. that's where the blindess lies...
maybe we can land yi (who's size, shot blocking, and range would be great), and move carter in a 3 way deal. gerald wallace maybe?
BINGO BINGO. Your the winner, finally someone said it. This would really be team cream puff for sure with those 3 together.
I don't know why it hadn't occurred to me---I'd imagined a 3 way deal with Carter landing in Charlotte but had forgotten about it. I was thinking more along the lines of Diaw and Bell, who can be traded again in the same deal, I think, especially if Gerald Wallace is still ailing. These trades they bring up on ESPN generally are more of the straightforward 2 team variety, but you never know, what you mention could be possible.
Regarding the notion that playing with Vince would resurrect McGrady, I have my doubts as his problems are physical. If it's a mental issue, if he can't get motivated playing with this loaded roster, playing with Vince won't change a thing. Potential deals need to be approached from a vacuum irrespective of Grady. He's done for all practical purposes. Vince Carter is a fine player who has certainly resuscitated his career. He would have been a great fit for this team with a healthy Grady and might have been the answer. But with the current state of affairs, is he good enough to warrant destroying your future cap flexibility? Does he give you enough of a chance this year to justify paying him $15million when he's 34 years old? Keep in mind that you would also be destroying our depth as he makes quite a bit more than Ron. Also factor in his injury history. I cringe at the thought of a roster with Yao, a 34 year old Vince, and no cap flexibility a few years down the line after two more first round exits.
Here is my take. If this report was real, then the players involved are fakes. no way Rockets going to trade Ron plus filters for Carter. Is it either Tmac for Carter or nothing. it just doesn't make sense. Tmac is expiring at the summer where the big FA happens, so it works with Nets goal. beside why we have two guards in tmac and carter and they both don't play mych defense? It's a smoke screen for trading Tmac. book it.
The just got Harris as their long term PG. He is young and getting even better...why would they trade him???
if vince comes i'm willing to bet he'll get at least 5 times as much hate as mcgrady gets right now on this board
Ron might be firey and has some effort, but his ankles, like Battier's, are holding him back from being the player that he was. He's got mobility issues and shot-decision issues that aren't really helping the Rockets right now. If there's a good deal, you pull the trigger.
Don't trade anyone. They know that we have the pieces complete. This will be the team that will win the championship.
I believe they have the pieces but the pieces say otherwise. TMac must go and I believe they have a better chance to win without him this season. TMac is not healthy and I have stated before will not be healthy this season. I appreciate all he has done before but if the Rockets are serious about the win mode now they must trade TMac for an able body that will help the team.
