Anyone else think Viggo Mortensen would have been a better pick? Arragorn would kick ass as Bond.

Ehhhh. Im not thrilled. He just looks like a old junkie. Hard to believe this guy is only 8 years older than me. I havent seen him act yet, so I will definitely give him a shot. Apparently he is pretty well known in the UK. I am VERY surprised that Brosnan didnt return for Casino Royale. Apparently so was he.....

As a complete Bond fanatic, I was really unhappy with DAD (the most obsurd and overly produced Bond movie to date - right up there with Moonraker) but really enjoyed TWINE (except Denise Richards as a Nuclear Physicist  ).

Dalton had no sense of humor and took the role too seriously IMO. If he would have relaxed a bit, I think the role would have come to him a bit better.

The franchise needed a change, but they better get the script right. More along the lines of the Bourne series would sweeten my tea.

My preference for the role would have been Clive Owen - a much safer choice. Craig is somewhat of a gamble.

Except I couldn't deal with Aragorn's dark dirty gaps between his teeth during all LOTR's.

Great movie except for the end. I was very impressed with Craig.

You'd be surprised at how short Pierce Brosnan is. I was an extra in one of his films and he's a shrimp!

This was not unpredicted, I know I and others have been playing the "who's the next Bond" game for a while and Craig has long been rumored as one of the guys the producers wanted. He is a 2nd pick, at least, because I'm Hugh Jackman turned the role down, though I don't know if it's ever been verified that the role was actually offered to him or if that's just some movie star way of drumming up hype.
