How so? You know what would happen to them? That's pretty amazing. What numbers should I play for the lotto tomorrow?
they were rushing her to a hospital because she was pregnant and how is it that people get murdered all the time when vehicles are being "disabled"...but i wouldn't expect anything less from an apologist of the israeli regime
aren't you the guy that has an unhealthy obsession with tinman? following him around the bbs and posting pics of a 'tinman'? weirdo
Sad, but expected, that's what happens when you engage in war, atrocities like this become not only likely but a given, it just so happens that these two incidents were caught on tape. As for the military 'coverup', that's what tends to happen in these situations: coverups. They would never admit to it if no videos/photos were shown, that's just the nature of the 'system', guys must be protected, unless things go public and then they have to sacrifice a few 'bad apples'.
Creepy, you are flipping out of your mind with that comment. "Any other country"? So the U.S. is no different than Nazi Germany was in France and Poland? What about Serbia in Bosnia? Russia in Lithuania a few years ago. Iraq when they invaded Kuwait? (Do you even remember this?) Your post is so ridiculous it's almost beyond making a reply. Question: In your opinion, what IS the punishment those Marines should receive? What is a slap on the wrist here? Just curious.
I know you're not directing this question at me, but what would these marines be facing -- in terms of jail term -- if they're tried and convicted in our civilian courts? That should be the standard used. A mere "2-3 years" or even 10 years for murder would be considered a 'slap on the wrist', IMO. Still, we have to take a 'wait and see' approach to this until we get more details about this incident.
Thanks for the reasonable comments. You must believe they should face 20+ years, life in prison or the death penalty. I am as sickened by these reports as anybody, but I'm also glad we have due process of law. The people who tried to cover this up must also face justice and be made an example. The country and the world are watching.
It's stressful there,...I had family there. My cousin was there for the first 1 and a 1/2 years. An officer tried to get my cousin in trouble for shooting an unarmed civilian. He put A 3 round BURST into an idiot who refused to stop despite multiple warnings. (He was heavily clothed). I'm proud of him.
talk about being an apologist...lol would you be proud of a member of the iraqi resistance if he emptied an ak-47 clip into your cousin? after all, this is an illegal invasion and occupation and the iraqis are well within their rights under international law in resisting it. if freedom is genuinely important to you, then you should'nt object to iraqis killing your cousin as they resist an illegal military occupation
You on one hand, and Creepy on the other, are why it's hard to have intelligent discussions on a topic like this.
why are you singling me out? all i said was that the us is just like any other country in that they try and shield there soldiers from being genuinely prosecuted when they committ war crimes and atrocities...it's hardly a stretch...if you don't think what i say is worth replying to, then don't reply, nobody is forcing you as for the people who asked why israel was brought up...i don't see much difference between the illegal israeli occupation and the illegal american one
WOw dude, seriously. Do you ever listen to the **** you say? Really, you should read what you type and listen to what you say from now on. May I ask, WTF does this have to do with Israel? And someone being an Israeli apologist? The point was, in that article the troops did NOTHING wrong. The driver of the Taxi was at fault. That was a tragedy for sure, but the car came speeding into an area where it's not allowed. With all the car bombs etc, you'd think that would make sense to you that this happened because they didn't slow down. As for the main article, I'll believe it completely when all the evidence comes out to the surface. I'm skeptical of stuff coming out of Iraq, whether it's good news or bad. I won't believe it at first. The troops, and the civilians in Iraq are under emense pressure. They are more stressed than anyone could imagine. God speed to all the troops.
What the hell does that have to do with this subject?! That's what I'm asking. Seriously, this thread is about a tragedy that has happened in Iraq. And if true, the people who commited the crimes and the ones who covered them up should be punished.
