I don't think I'd want to buy ANY MP3 player that has a hard drive.....not when they can squeeze 4GB onto a single CF card. Why chance all the moving parts?
nope, the iPod is a mp3 (music) player...basically, you can put all your music CDs onto it or download songs and listen to it wherever you go
Considering that a 4gb cf card will run you about $1500. On top of that, I don't believe there are any cf mp3 players that support more than the 1gig cards. You would need 40 1 gig cf cards to match the iPod. With the iPod, you can essentially have your entire music collection on the go, without the need for swapping out any media. Plus, imho, there aren't any mp3 players that are as refined as the iPod.
I know -- I have the Archos Multimedia Jukebox 20 -- LOVE IT. But I've always been interested to see if Apple does it and see how theirs is.
I'm almost scared to think what they'd price it at! $800?! Aesthetically, the iPods are beautiful, but like with just about any other Apple product, the bang-for-the-buck is the only thing I don't like. I was also hoping the new iPods would have newer and "cooler" features, but they don't appear to. That's one reason I'm going to shell the bucks out for a Neuros today.
My Ipod has never once skipped. Ever. And I've gone running with the damn thing. DOD - The Neuros looks pretty cool. I wish I had more space than the measly 5 gig on my Ipod...
I agree. I was holding out on buying the Archos in hopes Apple would bring out an ipod with the video capability. My thinking changed after a week or so though, because I realized I got more bang for buck with the Archos, and it looked like it would hold up better. I'm really hard on stuff like this, and I need something that will keep up. I hope I never have to get a phone other than my 3390 because it's taken so much abuse it's amazing it is still in one piece, much less works flawlessly. It's the same way with the Archos versus ipod. The Archos just had a more durable feel to it than did the ipod. Once I got the Archos, I noticed some downfalls, but after the last firmware update, I've been cruising without a hitch. I've also dropped the archos a number of times and no problems. Don't get me wrong, I love the ipod's interface (although the archos interface is very intuitive for people who are good with computers, and the way to move files to it is a JOY), but in the end, I felt I had more substance with the Archos. That Neuros looks freakin' awesome, and in some ways I wish I had it over my Archos even!
