I've never gone over 100 texts in any given month, but judging by the number of text messages my kids send, I'm just too old to truly understand the power and allure of texting. I just can't figure out how they find the time to send thousands of text messages each month.
Current iPhone customers can upgrade to the 3G iPhone and pay $199 for the 8GB or $299 for the 16GB model. They will need a new two-year contract. According to the AT&T press release, the new iPhone 3G data plan will actually increase US$10/month to US$30/month. In addition you will need a voice plan starting at US$39.99/month so the total monthly fee to use an iPhone 3G will increase US$10/month or US$240 over the life of the new 2-year contract. so technically over a 2 year period you are paying 40 bucks more for the new phone. so much for saving 200 now..
if this is in fact the case, i'll stick with my iPhone 1.0 and wait the extra 25 seconds for a webpage to load....
wow, I'll just stick to not having an iPhone or having internet capable phone. Those monthly charges are ridiculous. I'll just find a wi-fi hotspot and use my itouch
LOL. Don't look at Verizon's data pricing then. It might give you a heart attack. I like what iPhone 3G brings to the table, but I don't think it's enough to get me to upgrade from my current iPhone. That added $10 a month for 3G data service pisses me off (greedy bastards). I can live with EDGE for now. Plus, I have GPS in my car, anyway, so I don't really think I need it on my phone. Maybe I'll upgrade down the road when the inevitable 32GB version hits (perhaps this holiday season).
sold my current iphone for 360 that i paid 250 for will definately upgrade.. 8gb black for 200.. and yes i already have a GPS in my car If you dont own an iphone..then you dono how great it really is..i think its worth every penny..and now that its cheaper..with better battery life, gps, and 3G sign me up...i just wish they upgraded the camera, and added bluetooth a2dp thats just my opinion..
2 HUGE disappointments for me were the absence of voice dialing and the inability to use a landscape keyboard. I was sure to buy this phone, but I don't know now. Is there any jailbreak program that puts voice dialing on the iPhone?
Yes you can still get the upgrades. If you are on AT&T there is nothing to really worry about. Jailbreaking only gives you the option to install all the cool 3rd party apps on your iphone. It's not like your unlocking the phone for sim usage and stuff.
What if you're on a jailbreak iphone with T-Mobile? I'm thinking about switching to AT&T altogether because of the price for the iphone. If T-Mobile iPhone users are more limited, then I'm definitely switching.
my other concern is glitching, does it slow down when jailbreaking it and putting all these apps on there? and does it void the manufacturer warranty if there is a defect with the phone?
Have you tested this? I haven't done an update to a jailbroken phone but I believe you have to do the restore or that the update will end up doing the restore for you.
