So what about those of us who purchased the current iPhone in the past recent months? Apple gonna play nice and give a rebate?
thanks for the link curious to the exact new features of the 3g phone and cost and any potential "step-up" programs for current iphone owners. so far the iphone 2.0 update features are pretty cool as there are a lot of cool third party apps that are becoming available. i'll check in on the updates as the day progresses. I really hope apple does do a step up program for current owners to help save on the cost.
I will never wait around for another Jobs keynote address again. I know it was a developers conference but 1h50 was crazy. Next time, I'll just keep to my own business and read the comments later in the day. So, are you thrilled or disappointed with what was said today?
and the 16 for 299! thats not a bad price at all so whens the official street date? they said july 11 in 22 countries but is that everywhere by july 11? whats us street date? 199 isnt bad at all for the 8gb even if they dont have an upgrade program i would donate my current iphone to my godchild and get a 3G one.
So what should I do if I bought the current 16gb in the last week? The store said I have 14 days to return but there will be a restocking fee. Any other ways to get this situated?
I should've known better. Obviously all the juicy news is the last 5 minutes, while the rest of the keynote is mostly marketing, but I did it anyways. I knew what I was getting into. I will say the iPhone SDK stuff is interesting and something I'll probably try to play around w/ in the near future. The headline news was pretty good though. A $199 iPhone is absolutely killer. Too bad it's only w/ ATT otherwise I'd be running to the store right now. I'm looking forward to the details on 'Snow Leopard' (OS X 10.6) later today...for better or worse. If it boils down to paying for a security update that will be really interesting (as in stupid).
i tried calling a few att stores and apple store in my area and no one has it the apple store said july 11. i thought it was on sale today in the US but will be onsale at the 22 countries by july 11.
Wait wait wait... People have taken off of work, sat around the computer for hours, some even flying to be at the event... Just so Steve Jobs can tell you about a price cut to his cellphone and that he's added GPS? /society
Or maybe people can listen to streaming audio in the background or refresh websites w/ updates periodically. Don't be so dramatic. /nottryingtomakeacommentaryonsocietyovereverylittlethingjustsoicanlookdownonit
but you couldnt wait to see if it would..it's not like you had to wait 4 months..just another week. Update: Just bought an iPhone? Listen up: "Customers who purchased a 2.5G iPhone on or after May 27 and want to swap it out for a new iPhone will be able to do so without incurring an additional handset charge for the new device. They will of course need to turn in their 2.5G iPhone." And for the rest of you, AT&T says there's no way to buy it without agreeing to a contract. So sorry.
the most important question is.... For those of us that already have the 1st Gen iPhone and are under contract with ATT, do we get the phone for the contract price and transfer our remaining contract time? or Does ATT make us sign another 2yr? Im going with #2....
That is good news. I think it is the right thing for them to do. But how will they justify the $200 price difference?
so for the $20 plan you only get 200 texts?!?! thats complete nonsense. i i have used 200 in the past 2 days lol.
