You're a bigot. You bring no value to any thread. You are no better than a racist. You represent everything which American is not. Im not sure why you use Mr Meowgi ... he didn't fear everything he couldn't understand.

Im not big on baseball. Im not big on soccar. Im not big on college sports. Guess what! I don't post in those threads. Its the same dozen or so bigots that ruin the D & D.

That church is a disgrace to Christianity and everything it stands for. That even deserves its own thread. I don't think a website called GodHatesFags.com is honoring to God at all. I've read that website many, many times, because of my sheer fascination of the ignorance of some Christians. If I had a chance, God help me, I'd torch that church.

Jesus Christ didn't represent any of that.

It would be great for me personally if it's found to be true. However, how much proof is enough proof of the existence of God? Even if it were universal knowledge, would it actually change us? By the biblical account, the Hebrews lead by Moses almost immediately began idol worship while Moses met with God on Mt. Sinai....that after witnessing the many miracles of God on their journey from Egypt to the land of Canaan.

    Great Floods.

    Scablands

About 15,000 years ago, in the waning millennia of the Ice Age, a vast lake known as Glacial Lake Missoula suddenly burst through the ice dam that plugged it at one end. In the space of just 48 hours, geologists believe, the collapse sent 500 cubic miles of water cascading across the Pacific Northwest, creating overnight such unusual landscapes as the scablands of eastern Washington (see Explore the Scablands.) Here, geologist and scablands expert Vic Baker of the University of Arizona talks about what it would have been like to witness the flood, what such floods are teaching us about Mars, and what J Harlen Bretz, the colorful geologist who first proposed that cataclysmic flooding had carved the scablands, was really like.

"It was the biggest flood in the world for which there is geological evidence," writes Norman Maclean in A River Runs Through It, referring to the catastrophic deluge that tore through the Pacific Northwest every time Glacial Lake Missoula's ice dam gave way. "t was so vast a geological event that the mind of man could only conceive of it but could not prove it until photographs could be taken from Earth satellites." Proof now in hand, geologists today point to numerous features in the landscape that reveal the extreme scale and violence involved in these truly colossal floods. In this interactive map of the vast region affected, both within the storied Channeled Scabland and beyond, take a look at some of these telling features. Well at least they can admit its a STORY. If someone thinks that literally happened then they should expect ridicule.

This has nothing to to with Christianity. It has to to with taking ancient myths literally. That is stupid no matter your religion.

    Let me get this straight.

It is a bad thing thing that MR. MEOWGI lacks tolerance for Christianity.

Religious tolerance is one of the founding principles of this great nation.

Thus, it is OK for you to be intolerant of MR. MEOWGI.

There is a uncomplementary word for this.

    Hypocrite.

Well, the part about God looking like us isn't necessarily true. What the Bible is speaking of when it says "He created man in His own image" is the aspect of free will. We as humans were given the power of free will to do whatever we choose.

Some might say, "If God loves us so much then why does he allow people to reject him?" It's simple. Imagine yourself knowing this wonderful person and wanting to be with him/her. What kind of love would exist between you and that person if you "forced" him/her to love you. That would be rape, not love. And besides, essentially, what heaven is is being with God forever. Why would God want to force that upon someone who wants nothing to do with him?

Once again, God has given man free will and He will never take that away. That said, God's power is in no way limited in that statement, it is just that He has created us to be more than just robots.

I don't think Mr. Meowgi's intolerance is nearly as annoying as his arrogance. I personally don't really believe much of the Bible, but I don't go around basically calling people who do morons who should expect ridicule.

I didn't realize Mr. M was a theologian, historian, theoretical scientist and oracle. Or did I miss a post somewhere?

By the way, I'm glad we could keep the subject of Noah's ark civil enough so it could stay in the Hangou....er...nevermind.

Once again this is something that I personally believe (and will probably set myself up for ridicule but who cares, right?):

It has been just recently that I stopped worrying about trying to save other people. All I can do is save myself and improve myself as a person. God will speak to others in their heart at some point in their lives - whether they want that relationship with Him is up to them, but I know that I can't make that happen for them! All I can do is be nice and civil to those that don't agree with what I believe. :)

Does free will extend to all of God's creation? Remember, Satan and even some of the angelic host fell out of favor with God.

Thanks, but literally believing in the Flood myth has absolutely nothing to do with Christianity. And I was actually defending Christianity. Too bad people can't see this.

    Mr. Meowgi,

I respect all of your opinions but it is hard to argue against the Bible from a validity standpoint. The Bible is one of the most historically accurate texts known to man. The number of ancient manuscripts and the frequency of their duplication cannot be matched by many other historical texts. There are Roman records which prove the existence of many figures in the Bible, such as Jesus, of course, and Paul. Also, all the prophecies that are stated in the Old Testament are fulfulled, despite being some being a thousand years old. No other sacred texts can match the Bible in its accuracy of predictions.

Keep in mind "the world" can be really small at the time of story.
Maybe these poor pre-historic man lived in a basin.
"all the animals in the world" to them may just be a dozen.

Even the story is true - to an extent, it doesn't prove Bible correct in all account. Just how you interpret them.

However I do wonder whether these "national security analysts" got paid by doing this kind of staff.

I say collect his Sallary, pay a team of climbers. Better yet, feed some poor homeless people.
