too bad no HD picture.... NASA we have a problem, please send Matthew matthew mcconaughey to replace it with GoPro 4.
It's amazing, isn't it? All of us here were born in a time where this part of our map was just a blank. Anyone born after now will think it odd that we didn't know what Pluto looked like. I love little steps like this. Spoiler
Is it going to get close enough to zoom in and get a sense of some of the topography? Or are the red pictures from yesterday about as good as it will get? I'm really curious to see what the surface looks like up close.
The images are going to get much sharper -- NH is currently sending hd pics back to earth at a whopping 1 kb per second so we're not going to see some of the best stuff for a while.
am i the only one that's amazed at how FAAAAAAAAAAR this thing is and we are still getting DATA(!) from it. with all the crap in space...being BILLIONS of miles away...that's some crazy stuff!

There are dozens (or more) images/data just sailing through space completely separated from both the spacecraft and earth.

The same people who hate NASA for talking about climate change and pollution and cutting its budget are now celebrating this space probe. If you want more news like this ,listen to the other stuff NASA says and recommends.
All the tardigrades are gonna hop off here and start a new super race. This is how Earth will be destroyed.

1kb is unbelievable at that range. You'd think at that range the transfer speed would be like one byte string a second.
