So I finally caved and bought my first high quality headphones, a set of V-Moda M-80s. I've been hearing rave reviews about them from just about everywhere, and I saw that they were on sale at radioshack for 130. Until now, I had no idea music could sound this good and I couldn't be happier with my purchase. What are yall using currently?
In the last 3 months I've bought... AKG k430 KOSS Tony Bennett Signature Edition Stereophones Monoprice headphones Audio Technica AD700 I like bargains, but I have only one pair of ears. Trying to hold temptation and wait for a deal on AKG Q701s.
I've been looking for new headphones. I see that the M-80s are still going for 130.00 at radio shack. It lasts until March 2 and they usually go for 200.00. Amazon has them for 148.00. Are they really that good?
It is apparent that a) you have not experienced a good set of headphones, or b) you do not listen to music.
Headphone junkie here. Beyerdynamic DT 770 Pro-80 with a JDS labs Headphone amp/DAC and FLAC as your source = good stuff Beyerdynamic DT 770's JDS Labs h.a./dac
Yup. And people making some real dough off of it. "Dr. Dre has sold 51 per cent of his audio company Beats Electronics to smartphone manufacturers HTC for a cool $309 million"
I have to feed my family, man... why must they be so expensive?!?!? I bought me a $5.99 pair for the office... *death by web conference meetings*
Beyerdynamic DT 770 PRO Good headphones make a huge difference in sound quality as long as you are hooking them up to something powerful enough to drive them properly.
I'm pretty sure that I'm from a previous generation and your post made me think of something I found out recently. I had an ear infection for 3 or 4 months, and when it finally cleared up, my ENT specialist had his technician give me a hearing test. You know, where they put you in a soundproof room, and then you have to say if you've heard something or not. My hearing is perfect. I was shocked, seriously blown away. You could have knocked me over with a feather. I've been to hundreds of rock concerts, most of them in the '60's and '70's, when there were no restrictions on how loud a band could play. To give you some context, I saw Hendrix 4 times, and once sat 20 feet away from a giant bank of speakers. My ears were ringing for a week (great concert!). I must have good genes or something, because all that had no impact at all on my hearing. Go figure!
bought me a pair of SkullCandy Hesh a few months ago, reguarly $50, got them fr $16 through their eBay store also got a cheap pair of Bluetooth headphones to use while at the gym with my phone, good so far, can't complain
There's a difference between buying something that's hyped and a set that sounds good. And so far I'm loving the m80s. The bass is nice, tight, and with a good amount of punch, and they don't bleed and mess with the mids. Mids are nice and smooth, and the highs are good, but I've heard better. Build quality is amazing though, and accessories are great. Currently it has the best bang for the buck IMO. I'm no audiophile, so correct me if I'm wrong.
