Harden isn't open. Look at how much space there is and how far Harden is from the 3pt line. By the time the ball reached Harden, Caruso would've had enough time to recover. If Harden is attempting 30 ft 3's, that's a win for the defense.
No, that isn't the smart play at all by Gordon. Harden should be going towards the three point line though or at an angle to make it easier for Gordon to pass out to him. There are several things wrong on just that one play.

When playing 4v5, you take what the defense gives you. The defense gave him a path to his left so he took it.
No he wouldnt have if Gordon had just made the right play. And even if he did recover, that's enough space for Harden to make a play out of it. No it isnt. Harden has made plenty of these shots. Even if Caruso recovered, Harden just drive past him at this point as well.
That's the problem I think, 1 is just way too low if he can hit it at that clip. Way better than Gordon heaving it from Half Court at sub 30 percentage.
Its not 4v5, they gave him a path into a crowded lane where he did not pass to anyone else.....again.
Nope, not when you have 12 seconds on the clock and you have someone open that will either have a path to the basket, can pull up for a three or pass is someone more than Caruso comes over. That wasn't the smart play at all by Gordon.... but that is what Gordon does, he makes up his mind he is going to drive or shoot and sticks his head down and does it, regardless of how stupid it is. Harden was drawing coverage out that far at key parts of last season, he isn't getting it right now and he and his teammates need to adjust. Whether Harden or any of them choose to adjust, I don't know.

Harden should move back door or off some curls maybe Wood or Wall could catch defenders sleeping to give it to him for a easy 2 but he has to be willing to move without the ball (playing off ball like y'all call it. It can't be though because you have to actually play and move without the to be playing off ball) . Letting someone else bring it up is one thing but to actually look to score or get open when you going 1v1 off ball is another.
He's let John bring it up plenty of times. And if you are asking for curls than you need to talk to Silas. But even then Silas has said he wants to be keep the offense spaced and would rather james be at the three point line to keep it spaced.
Time to move Harden. Criticize all the other players for their shortcomings. It’s well deserved. But there’s only one mf whose shortcoming is not giving a damn.
