Actually it would be more like "I made three good decisions". 1) Hiring JVG 2) Hiring Adleman 3) Hiring JVG again
Don Chaney is only three months older than RA, and was a previous Coach of the Year. And he knows our personnel from working the broadcasts.
No. It wouldn't. Letting someone walk from a position, and then rehiring the predecessor, who you fired, says you made the wrong decision. Just like your post says "I'm an idiot."
From a close source. Woodson has already been in talk with the Rockets. Take it or leave it for what it's worth.
No, it doesn't. I would rather have Adleman these last 3 years than JVG. If we had kept JVG, you'd bet your ass he would've been fired by now, with zero chance of returning. So actually, not hiring Adleman would've been the mistake. JVG makes more sense for this team now than Adleman does, and Adleman made more sense for this team in 2008 than JVG did. No mistake either way.
Thats right, because firing him was for a 4 year vacation and rehiring him would be to bring him back to the promised land where he was so successful previously.
All you wanting JVG back do understand that it probably means the team will need to restructure the roster A LOT. That also means that next season would be a throw away year while Jeff brings in his type of players and then you have to ask yourself...would he want to go through that with jobs like LA, Miami and Boston probably coming open?
Restructure? How so? By getting some defensive bigs? Isn't that what we're already trying to do? By getting rid of KMart and Scola? Isn't that already what we're trying to do? I can't see Jeff going to LA, and Miami probably won't ditch their coach unless they completely flop, with Boston... that's a maybe, but they are on the fast track downward. The X-factor, I think Jeff and the FO here already have an amicable relationship, Morey seems like a JVG kind of guy, and most importantly, Jeff lives here.
The way this organization treats coaches, it's really not surprising that no coach would want to come back.
How did the Rockets mistreat Adleman? How did they mistreat JVG? JVG's teams underachieved in the playoffs, and a HOF coach was available, you think bumping him for Adleman was 'mistreating' him? Adleman is nearing retirement age with a lockout looming and a completely busted roster that needs long term rebuilding, he was given his walking papers only a handful of days after the season ended, is that 'mistreating' him? Are you referring to some Rudy drama?
He instantly nets us Dwight Howard... All kidding aside, the guy is a strong coach. He does well with the teams he has, plus he is young and patient enough to jump on a team in the rebuilding phase. He has proven that he can form and shape talent, the only thing he lacks is a ring... but the same could be said of JVG too...
