I think we can all see that Udoka has to go but who is Durant willing to work with that would make him happy staying and could give us a legit chance at a Championship? My thought, Scott Brooks. Not only did he have a great relationship with Durant, and still does, but he is not coaching so he is available. He also knows how to take a budding young team deep into the playoffs. The icing on the cake is, he was part of our '94 Championship team so he belongs here. Tack on Elie and Cassell as assistant coaches and maybe keep Ivey and bring the vibes back to Houston. Any takers?
Rokman, Idk if this is the henny in your system talking, or last night’s loss beat you down so badly you’re still in a daze, but bro, you can’t be serious right now talking about Scott Brooks.
I didn’t think he did a great job in OKC, which is why they moved on. And I’m not catering any new coaching hire to KD the Chemistry Killa
Hell no. No more guys who run out of ideas on offense. No more "the 90's were better" coaches. No more clap clap guys.
He might be better than Udoka, but not sure he's the right guy for this team. Is it too much to ask for a coach who knows enough about offense to cater to our roster and to make in-game adjustments, while also valuing good defense? Udoka needs to go. He's a drill sergeant whose ceiling is as a defensive assistant. Dude has gotten clowned in the coaching department two playoff series in a row.
Scott Brooks? You can't be serious. Presti waited two years too long to fire Bonehead from OKC. Replacing Ime with Scott Brooks would be like pulling a knife out of your back only to stab yourself in the stomach.
Fair enough opinions guys on the counter. I never really watched his coaching style. Only know he had a lot of success overall in OKC. I think 3 WCF appearances and one Finals appearance is pretty damn impressive.
Bonehead was the weak link. He wasn't good at coaching offense or defense. It was just like Ime's iso ball on offense, except without the defense (though they were pretty good the two years Ron Adams was on staff). He would not hold Westbrook accountable for going off the rails. He made Jeff Green (his pet player) the roadblock for Harden and Ibaka developing to their fullest, until Presti finally forced the issue by trading Green and both guys leveled up big time. Nobody else here remembers how Eric Spoelstra coached circles around Brooks in the NBA Finals, making adjustments Brooks never adapted to because he didn't want to hurt Kendrick Perkins' feelings. There is so much more but that is enough.
I remember going to a Rockets game against the Clippers in 1995 when Scott was on the team. He didn’t miss a shot. Scored liked 20 points off the bench. Then the Rockets traded him for some dope named Norman Wiley. Could have used a pure scorer like Scottie last night.
