Certified pre-owned means crap. It's just something the dealers do to add fake value to the car so they can jack up the price. Both accord and Camry are good used cars. What you are losing is the security of a warranty which there may still be some left. Plus you are closer to some of the more expensive things like replacing the timing belt etc.... At 50k you are probably another 50k from replacing your timing belt and water pump.

This. The dealer is the one doing the CPO process..and they don't give a crap.

Ideally you can buy a used car that's still in regular warranty 1-2 years at the most or something..but just don't assume CPO = sweet ride without the cost.

Actually, Certified Pre-Owned means they are giving you a warranty. It's actually normally a BETTER warranty than if you buy the car new.

Yup. I know Momentum Jaguar/Range Rover/BMW, etc. gives you a 5-6 year full on warranty for COP cars. The warranty includes everything from free oil changes to brake pads, etc. I would take it to a trusted mechanic and have a third party look it over completely before making an offer though.

Sounds like a good deal. Are you planning on selling it after the warranty expires?
