If Blinebury's right that the Rockets can't trade McGrady now because of the timing of this 2 week hiatus. McGrady needs to stop letting down his teammates and Rockets fans. Francis still hasn't played for the Grizzles. He mightn't be acting up but obliviously marching to the beat of his own drum.
thats true but francis was never in the grizzlies plans at all short or long term he was just a roster spot that Has filled up, the grizzlies cared more about the second round pick than francis. they have two young PG that need developing in Lowry and Conely so i can understand why Francis may not see the floor there. they just made the move to get the pick back for nothing really since the rockets sent them money to cover the rest of francis contract that wasnt the case here it was just rafer and brooks and only one of those guards deserved consistent minutes like i said its all speculation on my part but the whole trade seems strange really i dont think they were that forced to do it just to sign Deke. it was really just houston and the spurs in the running and they could have waited i think. its hard for me to believe that Morey would trade someone at christmas time (an understood GM no-no rule) just to make room for Deke the following week. he could have easily signed deke and then moved Francis for the same type of deal later on but it would have given him time to find a deal where the rockets do not get raped in the process.
I doubt Francis said anything negative towards McGrady. He was on Calvin Murphy's show basically defending him all the way. Calvin was even trying to egg him on and get some juicy stuff but he didn't budge. He even went as far to say, "I'm not a doctor but I do believe T-Mac is injured." Maybe he was just putting on a show but he sounded pretty genuine when talking T-Mac. C'mon now, assuming T-Mac had something to do with Francis getting traded is a big stretch. Pretty ridiculous if you ask me.
