maybe im misunderstanding you, but the point of the article i posted which you are quoting is that our "allies" DID give us warnings.
I don't think Bin Ladens understanding of American economics and politics is quite as sophisticated as you give him credit for.
yeah sorry, i should have made my post more clear. my post was more of a tangent to what you said... i was just saying that while there were many allies that gave us ample warning (as you pointed out), your post reminded of another ally that had much more specific information on the plot, but deliberately didnt pass that info on to us (a country that we for some unexplainable reason consider to be most indispensable in the WOT)

Yeah, Bin Laden has his bloomberg, reads the wall street journal, and is writing a blog on the impact of sub-prime loans and it's impact on consumer confidence. Geez. The man lives in a cave people. There was no immediate independent confirmation the voice was bin Laden's. "This talk of mine consists of some reflections on the will of a young man who personally penetrated the most extreme degrees of danger and is a rarity among men: one of the 19 champions," bin Laden says in his preamble. "Shehri is one of these magnificent men whom the verses of the revelation affected in the same way they affected the first Muslims and picked them up and took him from the narrow worries of this world to the spaciousness of ... the hereafter, purifying his soul, firming up his heart and enlightening his sight and perception."
