Meh, rivals are born in the playoffs. I still hate the Jazz the most... but this makes me happy always: <object style="height: 344px; width: 425px"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/rdPRnRI0r84"><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"><param name="allowScriptAccess" value="always"><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/rdPRnRI0r84" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" allowScriptAccess="always" width="425" height="344"></object>
the biggest rival will always be the spers, and quite frankly i'm looking forward to run 'n gunning their old ass geyser players out the gym this season
Jazz: biggest rivals, they just continuously embarassed us for years. Mavs: Second biggest rival. Very controversial playoff series. Spurs: Old'ish rival w/ Robinson vs. Olajuwon. Lakers and Trailblazers are our "new" rivals...not really counting the '80s.
without doubt, our biggest rival is jazz, they shamed us a bunch of times,I believe every fans here are jazz-hater. and MAVS is our rival as well, each time against them would excite me a lot
I never really considered the Mavs our rivals. Maybe it's because I remember it from the early-mid 90s, when the Mavs were abysmal.
Jazz are always going to be our number one rivals...followed by the Lakers, then Mavs. Man I hate that team though...so much
He might mean The Jazz was the old one, but now we don't care about The Jazz. Maybe the next one is Laker, or the Bull in 1990's.
What?!?! Anyone who thinks the Jazz isn't our biggest rival has to be joking. The Jazz were our rivals before the Mavs were relevant, before the Spurs had rings and well after our old rivalries with the Lakers in the early to mid 80s. The Mavs are just our rivals because they're from Dallas and they're naturally hatable. Before the 05 playoff series no one would have considered them our largest rival. We've hated the Jazz for at least a couple of decades.
Some of us pre-date our dislike and disdain of the Mavs, who have only been in the NBA since 1980, with a long-standing hatred of the city of Dallas developed in the womb. In an attempt to cover up their insecurities regarding the great city of Houston, the tea sipping, inbred, crapulous denizens of Dallas have made it their mission in life to denigrate the Jewel of the Gulf Coast, the ancient spot of dirt upon which our independence was won under the brilliant leadership of Sam Houston (one of my ancestors has his name on the Monument), the center of the nation's, and the world's, greatest space program, home of the Astros, the successor of the Oilers (I forget the name of the team... a rumor is that some lunatic named the team after the state, as if anyone could doubt where Houston was. I refuse to believe anyone would be that stupid, unless they are from out of town), and the holder of two world championships, The Houston Rockets. Suck on it, Little D.
wat about the suns? or blazers? i hate mavs, spurs and jazz but i dno about the other above btw is this jus the western conference????????????
We've been rivals for a long time. Before you were unfrozen we landed on the moon, the Berlin wall was torn down and Liberace was gay.
To be a rival, you must hate a team worthy of respect, and in return be hated and respected by that team. Both teams must feel theatened by the other team. Rivalry is also dependent on how deeply emotionally wounded a team is by another team. We might feel another team is a rival, while the other team thinks we are beneath their notice. So rivalry is all a matter of subjective interpretation. Here's some for the Rox. 1. Utah. Dirty plays throughout the 90s and 00's. Flop City. 2. Dallas. Finley stepping out of bounds in that playoff series cemented it. 3. Lakers. Has only recently become a rival, especially with last year's playoff series, and our swapping of Artest for Ariza. 4. Trailblazers. A friendly rivalry. Probably my 2nd favorite team. They're kind of like the Rocket's little brother in a way, they can relate to us with their injuries, and they're all good people too.
Not that there's much I would disagree with the message behind the post, I'd debate the accuracy. We have/had a Cowboys store in our malls for good sakes.
