not sure if this has been posted or deserved it's own thread http://nba.fanhouse.com/2009/02/15/what-does-moneyball-think-of-amare/
Having Amare would be HUGE. You aren't going to get him without giving up something. He is every bit worth Landry and Brooks which is all you are really loosing because they are the only consistent ones in the lineup. Yao would finally have that athletic big we would need. AS is someone you can build the team around. I think he is that young motivation that this team would need. Tmac is done. We are building toward the future with Yao, lets trade for Amasre and then try to pry the kid from SAC away from them. Yao, AS, (Martin?) and thats a team moving in the right direction. Just need a serviceable PG. Oh man this would be huge. 2010 is a big free agent year, but lets face the facts Lebron isn't going anywhere. Wade maybe? He is every bit the health concern AS is though. AND if you loose out then its who Bosh? At that point who would you rather have Bosh or Amare? I think if you can pry Amare for RA and bakcups its a no brainer... and we get more cap room next year to build a team. This is just too good to be true.....
it's pretty much understood (and as implied via Clutch's post) that if Terry Porter's gone, they're gonna try to go back to runnin and gunnin. Why else would they fire a coach right after the ASB unless they intend to try to get back to the uptempo offense? Tangent: The way Phoenix has handled Porter's job status has been the most classless situation I've seen in a long time.
porter is gone, but the said financial trouble of the suns' owner is not. i say trade on, phx. amare and nash are belonged to us.
