Drafting Harden was pretty smart for 5mil, Maloe can have more quality depth later on but still has a MAX guy production-wise.
Thats how i view it... Yuu have the tier 1 elites which is only 3 deep of bron/durant/cp3... Than you have tier 2 elites which would be harden/dwight/melo/WB/etc... They are all great players only difference is harden is dirt cheap that he is almost tier 1... so i viewed him has the best tier 2.... i could have waited and tested my luck but wanted.instead.to secure my pick...
ok... i think Harden is probably a top 10 player this year but i'd have a tough time deciding between him and Kyrie, since both are cheap. i mean, if i had the #4 pick already, i would consider multiple options including Harden (though i'd probably take Melo or trade down). But i wouldn't trade up there for Harden.
Since Picks 1-3 are locks (usually). I think Pick 4 relies a lot on the personality of the draftee. Dwight Howard used to be lock at #4, now you have James Harden, Melo, Westbrook, and Wade added to that list. None of these are bad choices IMHO, but a lot of debate could be made.
why would you want your guy to fall? He might tear an acl or something. That's not very positive energy bro....
