some people, actually alot of people cannot afford cable, this is unfair, this is not right, mark my words, if there are no games on regular tv this year, you will be hearing my name somewhere, im going to do whatever it takes to get us non-cable people our sports, ive been one of the rockets biggest fans, now just because i dont have cable i cant watch any of their games, no this is not going to happen, ill protest, no not me, we'll protest together, we cannot let this happen to our community, there are alot of people in houston actually maybe more people in houston dont have cable than those who do, this will not happen, we will not let it.

man, you mean, sports on CABLE!?! Gosh, what a foreign concept! How dare the Rockets for showing their games on cable. Surely they are the first NBA team to do this and it will be the downfall of the franchise. Le$ Alexander will pay for this one dearly, that money grubbing punk.

Sorry mate, I am not going to protest this move. For what I know right now this will allow me to see more games.

I was in the same predictament you are in now.

When I was living in Sugar Land back in the late nineties almost all the games were on cable and I couldn't watch them because I was cableless. I do remember them having them on WB and UPN for a while, but then the local tv games were gone. suicks when you don't have cable.

but think of it this way, it is a better market for the teams (Rockets and Astros). They are getting a good deal which is what they wanted. Now they won't be using he shoddy eqiopment they have been using for a couple of years now with ch.51.

Im gonna pray that the overreactors are just dreaming about any protests affecting this move...in case you guys missed it...the games looked PATHETIC on KNWS(51)....somtimes hard to seee...sometimes impossible to see...moving them on to a honest to gods cable channel is a good thing...

Surely you have a friend that has cable that is a Rockets fan...go there to watch withthem...its more fun when you are watching with friends anyway...go to Live or any sports bar near you...anything...hell....forsake fastfood dinners four times in a month and there is the cost of your cable...

if you are rewally that big of a fan...you will find a way to get cable...

btw...Im quite sure your idea of more ppl not having cable/sat than ones that do is wrong.

    viva la broadcast clarity.

It happened and you can't stop it.

A couple less happy meals and you can afford cable.

    FYI-
I called the Rockets office this morning and no one could tell me what channel would carry the Wed. night game.
I called TV 51 and they didn't know if they were carrying the Wed. night game. They told me to call back after noon (central).

The Rockets operator put me on hold and came back and told me to change tv channels until I found the game.

Outlaw, I think you nailed it on Coop. And, sorry to see you just got cut by Memphis. ;)

I won't be getting cable just to accomodate Rockets games. I basically watch no television at all besides the games.

To clarify for some people - -

For all the people who are hoping to watch games in New Orleans, Austin or any other city outside of the Houston Rockets territorial zone, as designated by the NBA, not FoxSports, you will need NBA League Pass... simple as that...

New Orleans, even before they had the Hornets, didn't televise Rockets games.. they certainly won't now.. If you do have FSSW on your cable/satellite service, it will either go to alternate programming (cable) or be blacked out (satellite) if you don't have NBA League Pass...

and FYI, RSN is not Raptors Sports Network, or Regional Sports Network - - it's actually Rogers Sports Net, which is Canada's version of FSN... there's RSN Ontario, Pacific etc...

I'm stuck in Missouri, so I'm happy I'll see more Rockets games, w/rockets broadcasters.. though, i must admit I did have a soft-spot for getting satellite backhaul chatter from Jeff Hagedorn talking about some chick, saying "oh dude, that's so wrong"... (League Pass often leaves the video/audio feed open during commercial breaks on over-the-air, non FSN, broadcasts for teams.. it's pretty funny sometimes actually) but i won't miss having to explain to people i know the train-wreck that is Cynthia Cooper on air... wow..

Dave that doesn't make all that much sense.

I mean, why do I see Mavs/spurs games on FSSW in Cs?

ahh texas towns... do i see the rockets if i live in centerville, la grange, bellville, victoria,? i don't know, i've never lived there...

same thing applies to college station - - but, i'm pretty sure the rockets territorial line includes aggieland..

keep an eye on FSSW - - i bet you don't get any Mavs/Spurs unless they play the rockets - - or if you pick up WB35 over antenna in SA - -

i offered the 1st post only as a general guidline for people living outside h-town in other metro areas, (new orl, austin etc) - -

you guys need to be focused on decapitating OU this weekend...

h-town ballaz tonight avenge last season road loss to large lizards - -
