This could be good news for us in louisiana. Im not sure if we will get the Reckets FSN feed but there is a really good chance. The Hornets are on Cox sports and FSN usually picked up the Astros games. However they seemed to have a decent amout of Rangers games on instead...Hopefully at worst they will alternate between Mavs and Rockets games. I also seem to remember some spurs games on FSN last season. Either way we should at lest get some more rockets games.

I hope we get the Rockets and the Rockets only here in B/CS. We're closer to Houston yet I recall Dallas Stars games or "You Gotta See It" coming on instead of certain Rockets games.

That's the pisser. In Houston only 51% (or something very close to that) of homes have cable. That's a lot of people who wont get to see the games. Of course had the Rockets gone to their own channel it would have been the same thing.

I wonder if this will effect the Rockets deal with KILT 610 since KBME 790 is about to become the ESPN and Fox Sports radio affiliate.

If the Rocketts just signed the deal, you can bet it will start this season. It is typical of them to wait until the very last minute to sign radio and tv deals.

I don't think one has anything to do with the other - the teams control those deals.

The Rox and Astros were smart to attack FSN togther - with the Stros going the NLCS and the Tmac/Yao pull, I am sure that FSN was scrabbling to get the best package of teams from the Texas areas (sorry Rangers...)

We should. I remember not getting Rockets games only very rarely when they used to be on Fox Sports. Sucks for yall without cable but this is definitely great news for those of us in College Station.

Being in Austin, I am not worried this year. We get 30+ games on national/NBAtv this season. Last year it was 20. The year before was about 5. The only unfortunate thing about this season is that all 4 games against the Spurs are on national or NBAtv, so no extras this year.

Now if FSSW will force the Astros to drop Worrell and keep Deshaies on full time.

It is this year. 51 still owes the Rockets quite a bit of money and that factored in a bit. From what I hear, 51 will still air occasional games when conflicts arise. FOX is taking over the broadcasts from the Rockets and the Astros. The broadcasting decisions are Tad Brown's and George P's - not Tim Mc, not that Joel Blank dude, and not the Astros.

The Rockets have great talent on board - Hagedorn, Worrell, Ackerman, their Video Editors, their Producers, Cynthia (Sorry - had to do it!!!) so it'll be interesting to see what happens exactly but Fox people are saying that it'll be a shaken-up some.

It's not their talent, it's their internal leadership that destroys them. The Network is dead because of incompetency from Les, Postolos, Blank, etc... Ask a Rockets employee if they 'feel' their leadership has an iota of insight or vision. The fact is Postolos is an individual that doesn't understand basic principles. When he worked for David Stern, he was the 'whipping boy' and endured constant scrutiny, insults, and degrading talk from Stern (Yes, it's confirmed!). Now, these grandiose moves like the RSN are just ego driven moves that aren't really thought through, thus, they fail. But, when you're goal is to 'leave your mark' whether it be an RSN or the 'R' logo, you'll most likely fail.

So, basically, the answer is yes, it's this year!
