I am both happy and sad. It’s a shame that the independent stations can’t keep good quality programs. This is going to hurt Channel 51 and could possibly ruin the station. We are running out of locally owned stations in both radio and TV. I could be mistaken, but I think we just lost our last locally owned radio station a couple of months ago. Once again big corporations slaughter the little guys. On the other hand, it will be nice not to see the same Reliant Energy or Southwest Airlines commercials run over, and over, and over, and………….

51's signal craps out every night at about 7pm. Doesn't matter what's on.

I actually got digital cable for the sole purpose of getting better reception for Rocket games this year. Some games were just unwatchable on 51. You couldn't even see what was going on.

If it's anything like FSN in San Antonio, you'll see the Rockets 1 or 2 times a year other than when they play the Mavs.

a gift and a curse at the same time.

all those who don't have satellite or cable can't get rockets games at all now (or very sparingly).

although I have direct tv, still gonna miss ol knws

its got absolutley nothing to do withthe Rockets equipment.

it all comes down to the channels transmitter and the interference that occurs with their signal.

I think it is only logical that if a channel has bad signal at all times of the day, it cant be blamed on the Rockets now can it?

Moving the games to a real channel is a blessing...I was(and probably still will be) forced to choose the national telecast when taping my games(purely for my own pleasure/archives of course) cause the signal off of knws was soo pathetic.

This move cant come fast enough for me.

then tell KNWS to do something about their pathetic equipment...you cant stay in business if you provide a subpar product.

The ROckets had to go somewhere when their plans cratered...and KNWS just isnt providing what they need.

btw...the Relaint and Southwest commercials are the Rocket's sponsers....you will continue to see them no matter what channel they are on.

Clutch, in the past Fox SW always televised the home games only (with a road game sprinkled in occasionally), and the road games were always shown on a non-cable channel, for example, channel 39 or 20

    is this still the case?

Occasionally when the Astros were on FSN they would also broadcast in HD on 299 or 298 on Time Warner cable. Is it possible a few Rockets games will be broadcast in HD on one of those two channels?

I'm another one of those with no cable. :( I loved having all the games on 51. That channel comes in clear in my room for some reason. This sucks.

Haha...this is an annual question, and the answer is SPURS, SPURS, and more SPURS. (they'll play ROCKETS only when they play the SPURS)

And if your in Dallas, then I'm sorry you'll either get the MAVS, but even on days when the MAVS aren't playing they will probably show some other programming, but NO ROCKETS.

NOTE: baseball is different, they will actually go out of their way in dallas and san antonio to show Astros games.
