This is a squad with loads of shooters and defenders. Won’t be surprised if they have a Utah Jazz type season and make the playoffs next year.

Lol OP when you say “competitive” what exactly do you mean? Yes, they will be very competitive against the Rockets, Pistons and other bottom dwellers. Competing for a playoff spot or better? No chance. They opted for a heavy picks package for a reason and being competitive was not it.
Just a bunch of glorified role players sharing minutes in a disjointed rotation. A fringe playoff team, at best.
For once I actually agree with OP. That's a scrappy team. Lots of very very good defenders. Claxton is a top 3 dpoy candidate, Bridges one of the best perimeter defenders in the league. Royce, DFS, Johnson all very good wing defenders. Tons of shooting. If Cam Thomas can keep their offense respectable, that's at the very least a play-in team.
Remember when buying basketball cards and you hoped Jordan or a superstar would be in that pack? usually you ended up with common players like Billy Owens, John Koncak. The Nets team is all common players in a deck of basketball cards. No 10 year would trade for that **** /) PS- I just found a player Jarabi will peak at. Billy Owens.
This team reminds me of the Nets before they built the superteam, but minus the chemistry and plus a whole bunch of vets who don't want to be there. Capable of playing .500 basketball at times, but that's probably their best case scenario. Feels more like 25-30 wins.
Cam Johnson will be a RFA, and from the shape of the market, he'll be overpaid. Gone Jae Crowder may never suit up. They know what they have in a few of these guys, but no one here can carry a team to wins. Add the NBA's grinding schedule and they'll be lucky if they aren't in the bottom half of the lottery.
I hope they are as bad as we are now when we start competing. I might have been wrong about the owner. He seems to be rebuilding the way most of us wanted. If we get Wim or Scoot we will be ready for at least a play in next year.
