Hmmmmmm, intriguing. Wonder if a 3-way deal could be worked out sending Juwan to NJ and some combination of expirings, picks, and maybe a youngster or two to Seattle to get Rashard over here. Don't have time to fool with it. The rub for NJ would be taking on Juwan and not being able to ditch Collins and losing their expirings. Can't imagine anybody wanting to carry both Juwan and Collins. But if you replace NJ's expirings with Collins, all of a sudden the deal becomes a lot less appealing for Seattle.

Add Mo Pete and Maggette to your list. They are likely trade bait.

ending contracts will be valuable soon since the AI trade is sure to mess up the balance on a couple of teams rosters.

    look at the rumors:

LAC trade: maggetty, cassell, korolev, 2 first round picks (one is from mini, likely lotto). all for AI.

now, the sixers don't need cassell. we could get him for ending contracts if that trade happened.

DEN trade: nene, smith, filler, picks for AI.

rumor is that the sixers don't want nene's deal, so the nugs are looking to move him for ending contracts. the nets could just hop on nene i guess, but after the trade, maybe the sixers wouldn't want to help out an easter conference team.

MIN trade: foye, griffin, davis, hudson for AI.

the sixers would only want foye and griffin. davis could be had for ending contracts. we could also land hudson (not sure if i want him) for the TE. we would have NO scoring problems with hudson, head, and davis off the bench.

if i were the rockets i would definitely look into moving howard for endings because of all the possibilities right now. of course i'd only do it if i new that i could swing those contracts for someone else.

    anyway, just some thoughts.

Juwan a cancer? Wow. I think of a cancer as a bad attitude guy who spoils team chemistry and the locker room environment. I don't see that in Juwan at all. He's got a great work ethic, good character; he averaged 12 pts and 7 rebounds last season. He's mature and reliable. I don't get it.

With Juwan, Sura and Possibly Rafer- if we can pull off something that gets us Andre Miller +PF that is good defensively that would be huge.

I like your thinking- but Rockets management has never made quantum moves

Clyde Drexler trade? And in the offseason.. Charles Barkley, Scottie Pippen, T-Mac, etc..

I think we complain way too much about our management. You can question the moves they make, but you can't question their commitment.

Why do we always go back to Clyde drexler etc- IS That not a different era.

You put your money where the mouth is- that is commitment to me.

Juwan is not bad, i think he is an efficient player with good attitude, The Rox should not simply trade him without good return

    Anybody interested in Sura?

The only person of value to us on the Nets is Jason Kidd. Juwan is playing as good as he needs to be with this team in his limited minutes.

rafer is almost as untradable as juwon right now. rafer has 3 seasons left on his contract AFTER this one. juwon has 2. both are puttin up fine #'s in tmac's absense so maybe we might be able to swing a deal but we would only take back a bad contract in return.

i don't tihnk anyone here would like andre miller. he has no 3pt shot at all.

1 thing is for sure. next offseason we need to find a scoring PG who can play off tmac's creativity and a big 2 who can score off the bench in tmac's absense.

sorry to bump an old thread but...

Nets Lose Krstic For The Season
    23rd December, 2006 - 12:53 pm
    AP -
Nets center Nenad Krstic will miss the rest of the season because of a torn knee ligament.

The 7-footer was hurt during the third quarter of Friday night's game against the Lakers. The team announced Saturday he had a tear of his anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee
    ---------------

they might be more inclined to make a move now that they are in jeopardy of missing the playoffs.

I know...this thread came to mind when I read that today. I just don't know what we would do at the PF if we unload Juwon to the Nets.

I'd rather keep Juwon than have to play Padgett at power forward. The Nets would have to put together a pretty sweet offer.

Unless they offer us marcus williams, forget it. juwan has turned into a very, very, very good asset.

Yeah I agree.. the only person I'd consider taking is marcus williams -- aside from the big 3 of course, but you know that's not gonna happen

well if they can offer ending contracts for him that would be sweet. we would be able to use our TE to bring in a 4, then ship the ending contracts to phily for andre miller :)

Marcus remids me a lot of that point guard in Utah

    he will be pretty good

get him for JHO and Rafer, or just Rafer

JHO is getting better each game and he is a really good supporter of our other guys

We can at least be hopeful some kind of three-way trade can be worked out. In return for sending Juwan to the Nets, we need a better PG in return. Obviously we won't get a PF in return for Juwan in any deal with the Nets since they need a PF worse than we do.

I appreciate Juwan's recent play just like anyone else but I don't think it will last the season. He's going to smack the wall later on and it may as well be with another team. The big risk is that Chuck will continue being a foul machine and Tracy will continue missing games.

Agreed, it would have to be part of a larger deal, or plan. We are already stretched thin with our bigs, right now Juwon is a huge asset for us.

Juwon is a great guy to have on the team, but if there is a way to unload him and it does not hurt our championship chances this year...I would pull the trigger.

I have nothing but respect for Juwon but his fab 4 days are long gone. ;)
