Yeah, screw acceptance - screw the constitution that all people are created equal. Up with bigotry !!! DD
I highly doubt he'd be signed if he wasn't gay, but then again I don't know how he was in the league before so who knows. He is probably the worst offensive PnR player I've seen, Hasheem Thabeet is prime Stoudemire compared to him. I also like how nobody mentions he had fiancée for 8 years.
Everything else on television is gay. Sports are the last real man thing on to watch. I am just not the one to help push the new homosexual agenda.
Collins is seven feet tall and weighs 250+ pounds. I'm not one to condone violence, but I'd like to see you walk up to Collins and tell him he's not a real man. It would be a real shame if we never had the privilege of reading your posts again.
Look, all i'm saying is the Michael Sam's and Jason Collins of the world should stick to doing each others hair and nails. Leave the sports to the real men. But if you guys want to go out and hold hands with gay men while singing kumbaya then go right ahead. This is obviously an opinion that you don't agree with, but when it's all said and done, that is all it is, my opinion.
I can't help but think the decision was related to Michael Sam's announcement. I feel like the NBA wanted to make sure Collins got a chance before Michael Sam.
I don't buy that. The Nets actively pursued Jordan Hill but were unable to reach a deal. Same with Big Baby Davis. They've been thin at C ever since the Lopez injury. When you need a center and your only options via free agency are flakes like Kwame, Darko, Tyrus Thomas and others, I can see why Collins finally received a phone call.
Take a hit from Michael Sam, the co-defensive SEC player of the year, and try saying that keyboard jockey.
Real men like Ray Rice who was caught beating his fiancee unconscious in a casino? Real men like Ben Roethlisberger who have been accused of rape multiple times? Real men like Darren Sharper who are under arrest for serial rapes? Real men like Michael Vick who organize dog fighting rings? Spousal abusers? All of that is fine with you in the locker room and huddle, but the moment a man is honest with himself and his team about who he is as a human being is a bridge too far? Your perception of "manliness" is distorted.
Scouting report on Jason Collins: - Great penetrator - Superb ball handler - Takes it to the hole regularly - Thrives in isolated man on man sets - Excellent backdoor defender - Enjoys to dribble before he shoots - Solid stroke from outside - Good awareness when double or triple teamed - Loves to finish with a facial Relax.
Could be funny, but almost none of that matches his actual game. :-| You could go with "likes to clog up the middle," "has no problem putting a body on opposing big man," "okay around the rim." Meh.
You forgot that he is a team player that will be behind you 100%... That being said, I'm glad he's getting another shot...agenda or not. The quicker people can get over this ( and racism, sexism, all that), the better.
i get the fight for acceptance...the irony though is Sam and Collins are fighting for equality in sports and yet getting substantially more news coverage and endorsements than they would other wise....Since when does a guy who signed a day contract get a post game news conference
