LOLOLOL I'm sorry but there's no chance D and D will be coming to Houston. First of all Houston is not a glamour market, and Deron is a Dallas homeboy, why will he sign with the enemy (aka us)? It'd be ike Hakeem's son choosing to play for the San Antonio Spurs.

I'm not sure if I'd want to do the trade just for the pick though, honestly the pick is lottery protected so at best it'd be 15th pick. I'll do it if they hand over Kobe 0.75.

Don't need the dfraft pick, just get Marshon Brooks and I'd get Khupm for whatever expirings they want.

The "salary dump" trade is something that the Nets would do if Dwight Howard is still with the Magic post-trade deadline (or if he is sent to a "rental" team). As reported, the Nets would then be prepping to clear cap room to sign Howard and DWill and retain Lopez at the same time-- which they likely cannot do without dumping some $6-7 mil of salary at least.

I think the Rockets should aim to get Kris Humphries to accept the salary dump-trade. This is because that, even if the Nets do successfully dump salary, they won't be able to get Dwight and Deron and retain Lopez and still keep enough money to re-sign upcoming unrestricted FA Humphries.

Specifically, Howard and Williams will cost the max each ($18-20 mil?), Lopez would be anought $10 mil, and they still have Morrow, Brooks on the books and their own 1st round pick in addition to the 2 salaries they want to dump (Farmar and Petro). If the cap is roughly $58 mil like it was this year or even a bit higher, there wouldn't be enough room to pay Humphries his market value.

We take back the pick, clearing the Nets of virtually all salary for the offseason. By getting Morrow and Farmar, we are opening up the possibility of not signing Lee, making him expendable, perhaps being able to trade him for Asik?
