If true, last offer for sure. This week appeared a rumor saying Ujiri wanted Fields + Mozgov too. This what I was talking about. Taking into account that the last tweets by Hahn did not seem very optimistic for the Knicks.
WojYahooNBA Mark Cuban made sure to find Josh Kroenke after labor meeting and quickly marched out of lobby with him. Think he's going down w\o a swing?
Even with Gallinari now included, just from a talent standpoint this trade would be as close as you can get to raping a team in the NBA. Felton = nothing special, overrated. Chandler = woudn't have be able to resign him anyways Randolph = talented, but not even in the rotation Gallinari = good player, but expendable, especially with Melo coming in The NJ offer is 10x the offer this crap is.
I read that rumour at a spanish forum, and every Knickerbocker fan rejected the trade. ¿? Apparently, they see Felton as their future PG, while Chauncey only has one more year in the tank. His contract would expire at the Chris Paul summer, but with Amare & Melo max contracts + the new CBA, they could not get Paul. ...
Perhaps when you look at it like that it is. But if a third team were to become involved and take on, say, Chandler and Randolph in exchange for young talent and picks, then it could get interesting for Denver.
Knicks fans tend to overvalue their players quite a bit. Especially Felton. I was reading a Knicks board earlier this season when NY was on their winning streak and at that time only very few were open to trading Felton for Chris freaking Paul. There's a chance tho they'll get Paul or Williams just like they're going get Anthony. Via trade. Those guys - like Anthony - will make it clear they won't resign and force a trade. The question of course is what NY has left to offer after this deal. The answer is probably nothing, but it's not like this package is anything special either.
Randolph would be traded to 3rd team for first round pick(Minnesota Alan Hahn says) and that pick would go to Denver
FisolaNYDN James Dolan was the only Knicks official to meet with Carmelo Anthony on Thursday in LA. This is now his deal to make. Donnie Walsh maybe history after this.
Oops, misread you, heh. Thought Isola was talking about Walsh being history(you may be right) but was gonna say, guess Walsh wasnt or isnt on board trading all that for 'Melo.
I think if he didn't sign off and Dolan closed the deal without him, Walsh might retire. KBerg_CBS #Nuggets have given indications they want resolution by Sunday, sources say. So does Melo. So does humanity.
FisolaNYDN Isiah was not at meeting in LA but he is advising James Dolan. I know, I know, some still refuse to admit it and/or believe it. If they give Isiah the GM job again, they deserve any bad luck that happens to them.
end result will be new york. dolan knows that if he signs melo, in 2012 he will have to remove gallo and chandler from the payroll if he wants enough money to afford paul or dwill. so why not trade those guys to ensure you get melo to begin with? melo said he will only sign with the nets if the knicks fail to trade for him. once the knicks make a decent offer he will tell nj that he won't sign there and will subsequently be traded to the knicks.
Melo saying "no, no meeting this weekend" at the same time he says "I would love to have something happen this weekend."
Story on Knicks 'expanding' their offer. Time to get this done Denver. No real need to carry this out any longer.
FisolaNYDN Carmelo, according to a source, requested Thursday's meeting with James Dolan to ask the owner if the Knicks are committed to a deal.
He isn't asking for too much. He is just asking for the true value of a top 10 player, assuming he had leverage.
I question if the Nets offer is better. If Felton is overrated so is Harris, Favors has potential but he's hardly in the running for ROY, they're dumping Murphy along with one of those picks for LT purposes. They have 2 picks this year in a weak draft and one of them is the Lakers late 1st rounder. Not sure about that other pick but drafts are a gamble anyway. The Knicks are giving up 3 young proven players that average 45ppg and a first. That's a pretty good deal to me.
