Its abundantly clear by now Melo doesnt want to go to Jersey and only NY will do. Denver has to except the Knicks offer or let Melo walk after this season and get nothing. The NJ deal wont happen because Melo and CAA wont let it happen. Basically there is no other choice but NY. So forget NJ they have no chance. And its been rumoured Karl prefers the NY deal rather than the NJ deal. And most of those players from that line up will be gone after this off-season. Yeah they have no future Star but they have future picks plus the new found cap space after this season. Maybe they can move some of their new found "assets" for a solid roster piece. What Im saying is Denver has to either look at the positives from the NY trade or they get NOTHING by letting Melo walk. Felton/Lawson ??????/Affalo? (qualifying offer) Galo/Bud Harrington/Hill Mozgov/Birdman/ With this trade its not about this season but the upcoming future. Lawson, Galo, Bud, Hill and Mozgov are thier prospects. Felton, Harrington and BirdMan are their Vets. They will be in the market to acquire a STAR through FA or Draft.

Nice try. I just don't see a way that Houston is a better trade partner for the main teams than Minnesota is. Also, you greatly over-simplify getting the Yao TPE. Easier said than done. Big time.
Except rumors abound, and we know the reliability of all rumors Melo related, that two of the would be Knixie studs would be rerouted to Nets for two (more) 1sts.
The NJ deal could happen if Denver really wanted to test Carmelo. Carmelo is determined to get his money, so the thinking is that Carmelo could agree to play for the Nets if the Nuggets take it all the way to the bitter end on Thursday. It now looks like Denver and the Knicks are close, and I think the trade will be made, but I kinda wish it would go to the very end, just to see what Carmelo would do. I guess right now, the only thing holding everything up is whether or not Mozgov will be included in the deal.
