Good hire. <blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p>Nets and Hollins are in the final stages of hammering out a multiyear deal that will pay former Grizz coach in excess of $4 million annually</p>— Marc Stein (@ESPNSteinLine) <a href="https://twitter.com/ESPNSteinLine/statuses/484329095312850944">July 2, 2014</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
Well that sucks. I was really hoping he'd come in as our assistant then take over once McFail was booted after this coming season.
Well, that's another coach we passed up on to keep Mchale. Even if we get rid of him mid season, all the good coaches will be taken.
Hard to argue with hc position over assistant but if you are assistant on a Championship team next year you would better options than the Nets.
As much as this sucks for the ROCKETS not getting Hollins, lets face it, it is clear Hollins would have been one of the FIRST assistants to get a job when there was an eventual opening. At most he would have been in Houston for 1 season. That said, the job Hollins could have gotten, could have been the Rockets.
Guess McHale is here to stay, good for the nets though i dont think they are going to be contenders, even with Hollins.
