Seems to be working so far. Would you rather have had them do nothing and been a basement dweller this year? Also Motiejunas has a completely different body type than Dekker. He's a big without much mobility and a back injury is more concerning for a player like that. Dekker is more athletic, agile, not as big or lumbering. I wouldn't be as worried about him as D-Mo in terms of that specific injury. Anderson and Gordon additionally are more proven NBA players than D-Mo. They are more worth the risk than he is. They also provide reliable three point shooting (key in this system, obviously) which D-Mo does not.
That's a false dilemma. The options weren't either throw 20 mil a year at a 3 point specialist or nothing.....and not having Anderson wouldn't cause the Rockets to be a "basement dweller". It was a bad contract given to an injury prone, one dimensional player, no way to spin it otherwise. It might still work out anyway, but it is what it is.
oh stop with the pipedream about trading crap for Cousins ffs. Just because we got Harden do you think that now we can pull it off all the time? Ridiculous.
What are the chances they actually offer him a sheet ? 50% ? More ? Why wait this long? I don't think that Morey not being able to trade him this year is that big of a loss in value . Beyond that , the years and the $ hurt both teams equally in the case of poor play and benefit both teams fairly equally in the case of good play .
According to Nets people, 100% chance they offer it, but as was initially reported by several people they aren't going to offer it till tomorrow. It kind of sucks because we really don't have much intelligent to say on the matter until we know the numbers and they won't come out till then.
This is about the most unrealistic pipe dream I've ever heard . No offense , but brooklyn is not going to offer a sheet and then leave it on the table while Dmo goes back to the rockets using it as leverage . If Brooklyn offers a sheet and Dmo refuses it then they are going to reduce the offer going forward . Plus what assurance does Morey have that the offer sheet is "legit" . BJ has prolly already gone into moreys office saying we have interest from teams at the 10 mil level . Know what Morey said ?? He said go sign a ****ing offer sheet then . RFA works the way it does for a reason . Teams don't **** around for players that aren't superstars .
D Mo is Asik part 2. Disgruntled player. He would leave us after this year anyway. Hope it works out for him. I don't care where it is.
You might be right... Such a shame, Donuts could have been way better than Anderson had he been able to stay healthy and stay on the trajectory he was on in 2015. He was looking effing amazing by the end of that season.
It does seem like in recent years the emphasis has changed from hoarding large expiring contracts to getting cap space and then attracting FAs in the offseason. I of course am guessing, but maybe there's been some changes in the rules. As for Motiejunas, my guess is that if it's something like 3 years 30 million, Morey won't match.
So is DMo going to be sitting in a room at the Nets' office, receive a sealed envelope with a mystery number on the sheet, open it, read the number, and then only have five minutes to sign?
Sam Dekker as is going for the rebounds and bombing 3s is worth more to the Rockets than Anderson or DMo. It's sad but I hope other actually realize this. It's not very hard to notice. It's time to clear out guys like Harrell and McDaniels to make room at this point as Brewer is impossible to move.
Honestly no one other than Motiejunas should give a damn about the Nets signing him... it isn't 2013-2014.
oh ... if it works out, he gets to play with his idol Luis Scola. Isn't Scola with the Nets this season?
That is correct sir Anything beyond 9 mil a year will surprise me. Anything beyond 3 years will surprise me Rocket River
Well if Ryan Anderson is worth 20m in the new NBA, Dmo is at least worth 12-15m.......let's see what he gets. DD
If he is matched it won't be by Morey, Emperor Alexander and de facto GM minion D'Antoni making the call.
