By the way, when do I get my official insider stamp of approval? Surely if _holic can have "insider" status, I deserve much more....
I recall physicals also factor in team doctors' long term assessments as well, meaning D-Mo wouldn't have to fail any actual tests for the team to decide his long term prognosis wasn't worth the risk and fail him. Teams can also waive physicals as well.
Yes, it makes sense that this makes him untradeable by the offer sheet team, but the Nets? One would think the Nets are the reason he didn't want Morey to be able to trade him in the first place ... for fear of Morey trading him to the Nets.
Lin's faking an injury to lay on his couch. He'll buy DMo a big, massaging Lazy Chair for his back, too.
LOFs and DMoOF's. The 20 fans on their message boards will have to make way. By the way, if Nets can sign Delfino, Novak and T Chandler along with DMO, that would be the ideal team for the LOFs
thats exactly was happened, at least according to DMo camp, they saw his medical history and didnt like it.
You do realize all offer sheets that are matched come with a trade-veto clause for the Player. He could have signed this at any time, and it would have guaranteed Morey could not trade him without his consent. Now, no trade deadline is only new for the offer sheet team. It's odd he'd choose the Nets, which is likely the team he feared Morey would trade him to.
Woah, what's up with our sources. No one picked up on DMo traveling for a physical in "the past week."
Morey made an offer with the QO. If DMo decides he's worth more, but the league doesn't agree, how is that bad asset management? All along the Rockets have tried avoiding giving DMo more money than any other team would, also not bad asset management. And if the Nets give him an offer, thus establishing his new value, whether the Rox match or decline to match doesn't make it bad asset management. Don't forget they traded him to try to get something for him. If the Pistons hadn't thwarted that trade, which raised eyebrows around the league because many thought the "failed physical" was BS, we wouldn't be having these discussions.
Before the season started who knew if Atkinson would even be a good coach and if he would be able to implement his motion offence? Now with him and the culture change BKN should have improved by MILES as a free agent destination for the average NBA player (no stars). Even IF dmo feared Morey would trade him then, why would he fear it now? And I don't think that he even feared it in teh first place. What would BKN give back to us for him? Why would Marks waste the few assets he has for DMO? If he would fear being traded somewhere he should fear going to Toronto.
Well said. Somewhere along the line it became trendy to criticize Morey for not bidding against himself. Amazing stuff to behold.
When said posters don't understand or care to understand the salary cap and how it works and believes that we should sign any and all of our role players, because they don't care about the money spent, are you honestly surprised?
Someone more useful than Brown or Ennis at the very least. Certainly infinitely more useful than a holding out D-Mo.
