Same with Boston vs Nets. Nets will kill them but should make for an awkward game.

Interesting to compare this trade with the ideas on the board about Asik for Garnett or (Garnett + Pierce after buyout). Celts got a much better deal than we would have offered. The '18 pick is almost guaranteed to be a lottery pick and '16 could be also. Trading for picks also fits better into their longterm plan than a current trade for Asik. This gives a lot of validity to the Asik for Garnett estimated value. The Nets obviously thought that Garnett and Pierce had a lot left in the tank.

This trade only makes Brooklyn a little better at best. Miami and Indiana are still going to be the two best teams in the East.

Wallace contract is not bad for Celts either. They'll be flirting with the minimum salary in 2015-2016. Wallace keeps them above that. He'll come off the books just as the Nets 2016 pick comes in, and after Celts have had 2 lotto seasons. Great year for a splash free agent signing by them. If their '14 or '15 lotto pick pans out, they'll have a chance for a very good team in '16-17, then they get the Nets '18 likely lotto pick. Solid contention window '16-'20.

I didn't look through the thread but I'm sure someone mentioned this must be the most expensive starting lineup in NBA history. Well, that and last year's Lakers.

Curious to see if Boston would flip one of the Nets 1st round picks for Thomas Robison.

No way Rondo wants to be part of the rebuilding process. He's a Top 5 PG. All of the other 4 Top PG's are on contenders. I say Rondo will ask for a trade.

So this tweet is 45 minutes old, but I checked the last 2 pages and didn't see this posted anywhere.

Trade between the Nets and Celtics has been revised, with MarShon Brooks going to Boston now and Reggie Evans staying in Brooklyn.
— Ken Berger (@KBergCBS) June 28, 2013

Boston just got a nice young prospect.

Brooklyn - the next team to hate in the East:
    - Evans - Flop king
    - Terry - Celtics tattoo..
    - KG - enough said
    - Pierce - fakes injuries
    - Deron - just cause

Evans got traded in the deal.

Anyways, this deal would've been nice if it were 2005. It still looks good on paper but that doesn't always pan out.

Rondo would be the perfect fit in Houston. An elite PG that looks to pass 1st and can lock **** down defensively would be perfect to pair alongside Harden.

    Incoming: Rondo

Outgoing: Jeremy Lin, Terrence Jones, Future 1st. Jeremy goes back to Harvard area and keeps Celtics relevant (media wise). I'd rather we not trade Jones but he will have to be part of the deal for the Celtics to even consider. Future 1st to help rebuild.

Thank God they didn't send Garnett to the Clippers. I think the West is already stacked enough without depleting the East anymore.

How does this help Boston? I mean if we had Rondo, would you trade him for Lin, Jones, and a future 1st?

If he's able to come back 100% from his ACL surgery. ACLs seem to cause b-ball players more trouble than a lot of other pro sports.

Nets are still not better than the Pacers or Heat. I'd put them about even with the Bulls.

what a trade, if this nets team fail to get into the playoffs, or past the first round, then this year's lakers won't be the most disappointing team of all time.....
