Some directors are arrogent and dont realize they suck at writing . I think snyder could actually be a reasonable director if he just let someone else do the writing. He sux at humor but always tries to add comic relief.
One blurb I saw called it Seven Samurai through the lens of Star Wars. Amazing visuals and worldbuilding...not so much plot and characters. I will absolutely watch it anyway, because it looks cool.
I started watching it but didn’t make it through it. I guess it wasn’t holding my attention enough cause it felt disjointed and it was throwing me into situations with different characters who I had no idea who they were or what they were even talking about. All I know is they were boring me.
Wow. This movie is horrible. By the end I was pulling for the space Nazi with his space shilaley. Space Indigenous American, Space Irish, Space Black Guy and Space Ninja were disappointing.
Watched it. Enjoyed it. Nothing special mind you, pretty much mindless popcorn movie, but it was worth 1 watch for me.
Was that Sir Anthony Hopkins doing voice narration or did I imagine that? I was wondering if he felt ridiculous saying those words?
Watched it without reviews affecting my perception of it going in, or carrying preconceived views on the creator. Anytime there is a female lead or diverse cast it's predictable folks review bomb it as well, so I don't pay attention to critics or audience reviews in those cases. Enjoyed it and was entertained, will check out the second film.
Snyder tries so hard to curate and frame the cinamatography on every shot like its an art house film and every scene is the climax. Taken individually, it's all very beautiful but after 2 hours of so much, it all becomes a bit much. He doesn't need to turn it up to 10 from start to finish. Dial it back a little to develop the story. It seems like he makes movies to specifically more to impress other movie makers on their 30th time watching, more than the general public.
Plot wut? Low budget diz+ wannabe star warz in a Riddick/Warhammer40k back setting with some other ripoff moments like that avatar "tame the flying beast" scene. Space Indian bonded with the griffin then went byeeee to his new bff who won him his freedom. Zach Snider gets too many chances to ruin cinema.
I finally watched this movie. It’s like Zach took a bunch of other movies and some PlayStation game and made it to a movie . This movie is like Highlander 3
