I read where, in order to continue the momentum from season 1, they were adding big names to the cast including Vince Vaughn and Colin Farrell.

can someone please explain what that instagram is supposed to mean? I recognize the kid that stands up but who is the kid filming?
That "kid" is a 35 year old man name Ben Schwartz. He's mostly known for his roles on Parks and Rec and House of Lies. There was a joke (or theory) going around that his character Jean-Ralphio on Parks and Rec is the biological son of Steve on Stranger Things.
I just finished the last 2 episodes last night. Great show. Hope they planned what they were going to do in Season 2 before hand and aren't scrambling to piece together a script.
I had an interesting encounter today. We have some really old equipment laying around our shop yard. I place a craigslist ad "free, come and get it. Load it yourself". I had one lady respond, stating she was a set decoration buyer and wanted it all. I asked her if she was at liberty to state what set it was for (as I noted the she had blatantly left that topic out). She stated she wasn't allowed to say, but gave plenty enough clues to get a good idea what show it was for. She sent her crew out to pick up our equipment that we were going to scrap. As they were loading it up, I singled out the obnoxious loud mouth of the group and asked him if it was for the TV series I suspected. He quickly blurted it out what it was for and his entire crew gave him a stern look, which he followed up with "yeah, i shouldn't say since we are all under NDA". After they left, I was telling a colleague about it. He stated they were likely going to use it for "the government bad guys based out of Indiana" scenes. I pinged the procurement lady and asked about it. She, in her own cryptic way, confirmed. So now this weekend I have to catch up on this show so I can see where our stuff ends up in season 2. Unfortunately they haven't started shooting Season 2 yet.
I binged the show today. It was much better than what I anticipated. Its a shame the synopsis does very little justice for the show. While I don't rate it a '10 of 10, ZOMG best show evah", it was solid, very little filler and straight to the point. It reminded me a bit of watching LOTR (as there were plenty of references to LOTR) w/out the taking multiple cap naps throughout and not missing a thing. WR's character was certainly over the top, but hey, we all know crazy women like her. This show certainly centered around the boys, much like Goonies and Stand By Me. This is not the last of Finn Wolfhard (Mike Wheeler) we will see. He's a solid actor. And as we all know, we certainly will see much more Natalia Dyer. Dustin (toothless) also has a promising acting career. Unfortunately for Lucas, he was a blatant 'token'. I enjoyed his character and though he did a good job, but they certainly could have masked the 'token' feel for his character. The show did not have a specific genre as it paid tribute to the 80's, sci fi, horror and suspense. I think this was the shows strong point. When talking to the show's set buyer, she was very adamant about having nothing post 1984.(minor spoiler ). The Pinto was a great tribute to the 80's. After walking on a set of Man in the High Castle in Vancouver a couple months ago, I was watching closely for things that did not match the time period. Stranger Things did an amazing job of sticking to its time period. However like many, I do not have a strong feeling season 2 will be as good as season 1.
ha ha. I am hoping to visit a set early next week. If its anything of interest, I'll snap a couple of photos. Unfortunately much of Georgia can qualify as Upside Down, as anyone who watches TWD knows.
Sure, its nothing super cool or extra ordinary. However given the warez, I do find it quite interesting after watching the show. I suspect one of two things; The set materials on the roof of the Hawkins government building (presuming season 2 revolves around this) belongs to a different set company and the props are no longer available and need to be replaced -or- we will be introduced to a completely different government complex. I suspect its the latter, considering the crew that stopped by had worked on season 1 also.
