Note on the ending Spoiler Who else is disappointed that chick (more or less) got axed by a random shard of glass? It totally made the rest of the season cut and dried after it... I mean, yeah the biz guy strategized of a situation where they could've voted to suspend the games. That's something the main character would do, but I don't know why she would agree to walking away from all that money given her past I guess making the audience turn on likable characters doing realistic but awful betrayals is a troll move, but yeah that exploding slow mo Zack Snyder glass didn't seem necessary at the moment.
Spoiler Yeah, it was a little gratuitous to kill the chick off but it set up the big climactic fight. If there were three people it would have been lopsided, and the girl didn't have any personal skin in the game like the two guys did since they grew up together. I was OK with the exploding glass since it was a live show for the VIPs but honestly the fact that it injured anyone on that end platform sort of violates the whole 'fairness' thing the game runners extoled. ]/spoiler]
Spoiler I liked it, but I have an issue with the part where they allow the players to kill each other at night. The whole idea was that they play these games, everyone has a "fair" chance to win each game. An it is in the winning and the losing that you get money or death. Having them murder each other in the barracks just says forget all that, just kill each other and the games are secondary. And how is the mastermind's vision of how much fun he had playing these games with his friends supported by that action? Did he also have fun joining a gang of marauders that went around randomly murdering people?

random thoughts while watching Spoiler - the cop side story was very unnecessary and took away from the game drama - having storm shadow be cop's bro didn't do anything for the story. would much prefer it be the handsome subway slapface or kept a mystery - i would have made the old guy's death painful if i were the mc - if mc knew the old guy and his old buddies are the show runners, why bother go back to look for them? the old breh is pepsi - the mc is a pos father, till the end - watching on english dubs took away from the creepy green/red light song - why didn't north korea bebe just push ugly thug during the green/red light game so he'd be sniped? - i still don't understand how the squid game works. the rules are so weird. is that even a real korean playground game? @RedRedemption pls confirm - the husband-wife playing the marble game must've been super rough. disappoint they didn't show it at all - what was the point of the doctor side story? felt it didn't advance the main plot at all - what would happen if the old man died during the riot? seemed unnecessarily risky to let it happen. and how tf did he climb all the way up there? mugunghwa kkoci pieot seumnida
Yes, the squid game (the circle on the ground playground game, not death games lol) thing was a real thing for 70s and 80s youths, so one generation up from me is familiar with it; my parents can relate to all the playground games. Modern day nah haha

We’re like 5 episodes in and stopped a week ago. We will finish… but this show isn’t really that good imo. It’s entertaining enough to watch and finish. It otherwise super silly, lots of stuff that doesn’t make sense, and the acting is over the top throughout. plus the gang thing leaders dick snake tattoo is the dumbest thing ever.
I liked it. They’re basically portraying the flaws in everyone , including MC. He may seem like a good natured dude but little to question that he’s a crap parent the game itself and dynamics felt like depiction of prison life
