AIGHT: the deer stuff is inexplicable and someone who made the movie needs to talk about that ...also the cabin "someone slept here"
it's the same dude that did Mr Robot. That show was weird too with loads of unanswered questions. but i think the Book this movie was based off of was also pretty ambiguous too
There is really deer like that my friend...... Few and far between but I have seen some monsters at my lease because I am next to a high fence game ranch. Not sure what they feed him but they might as well be having Mark Mcgwire's trainer come and give them there medicine once a month.
You’re right. I was just really annoyed at the end. Like I wanted to know what really caused it and what was going to happen to the world. We knew the world was collapsing in the first 20 minutes. So basically the next 2 hours you learned absolutely nothing, except Julia Roberts’ (character) is a racist bad dancer that chose a record about getting a boner while dancing while her husband was getting stoned with the other dude’s daughter.
I did to, but to be honest I wish there was a part 2, I wanna see how they deal with everything..........could easily be a series I would binge
Thought it was well done, methodical but well acted. The story gives you a few tidbits here and there about what's happening but doesn't give the whole thing away. I haven't read the book but the story sounds pretty similar to the movie which is right up Sam Esmail's alley, should feel pretty familiar to anyone who watched Mr. Robot. I didn't have an issue with the ending but I can see why people would hate it, thought it was a solid B+.....
I haven't read the book but is it the same where I didn't care for everyone? I didn't have any single person to root for or care about. Very strange story/film in that regard.
Although it did not come across clearly at all in the movie, the deer are the key theme and important. Likely the theme is that the things that we never really considered a threat can turn around on us suddenly. That comes across in the characters movement, mood, and development through the entire movie. Everyone is thrown immediately into new environments, situations, cultures, and utter disruption of everything they knew. Watched from beginning to end. So the acting was solid. I'm not sure the direction delivered the message adequately. You feel it. But they don't explicitly tell you. Everyone was rubbed by Julia Roberts character, but I think some people thrown into the unknown would react that way. It was uncomfortable. It was balanced by the men in the story who react differently, but who still themselves are emotionally disturbed at times. Thought the video recording is an interesting ending as it accurately reflects the entire movie. Sudden Change. It could have been done better though. It did not come across explicitly, or guide you to the message, so it was hard for the audience to understand the point. But I do think you felt it during the 2 hours. The movie needed more to work, that's obvious, but I'm not sure how they could have done it differently to deliver the mood they wanted.
