Netanyahu's Likud sinks to new lows in Israeli polls

I didn't really follow the campaigns of candidates in Israel, to be honest, and if not for the BBS, I wouldn't have known that there was any controversy about him making a speech in the USA. Never liked him too much from what I saw on TV.

I don't blame him for looking out for the best interests of Israel, though. I think many people lose sight of what he has to deal with. He is surrounded by Islamist extremists. I guess that hardens your stance. Were you surrounded by the same kind of people he has to deal with...you would have to be hospita...you know the rest of my sentence.

He's straight from the Dick Cheney school of leadership. He's confirmed to everyone that he has no interest in peace, that all negotiations were a sham. He's got the blood of all Israelis on his hands now.

The entire world knows now what the plan is for the Israelis, continued expansion of settlements on Palestinian land until it's all theirs.

 

A strategist from Obama's campaign staff is consulting a group that is against Netanyahu. That's sort of weak. If we counted the number of lobbyists that meddled in US politics on behalf of Israel I bet we'd be here all day.

I'd have preferred if Obama had gone to speak in front of the Israeli cabinet and trashed Netanyahu in person.

Obama snubs Netanyahu and criticises Israeli PM's 'divisive rhetoric'

Obama’s press secretary, Josh Earnest, reaffirmed the president’s belief in the two-state solution, and strongly condemned Netanyahu’s decision to rally support with incendiary remarks about a high turnout among Israeli Arab voters. Netanyahu used a 28-second video on election day to warn that Israeli Arabs were being bussed to the polls “in droves”.

“The United States and this administration is deeply concerned about rhetoric that seeks to marginalize Arab Israeli citizens,” Earnest said. “It undermines the values and democratic ideals that have been important to our democracy and an important part of what binds the United States and Israel together.”

He added: “Rhetoric that seeks to marginalize one segment of their population is deeply concerning, it is divisive, and I can tell you that these are views the administration intends to communicate directly to the Israelis.”

 

Hopefully this is the beginning of the end of our financial and military support of Israel.

 

If only the USA could like a strong leader like Israel did. Instead we elect the worst President in history twice???? This country is so screwed up.

 

I am sure it will be. While I disagree with that policy it was going to happen one day and before you you say it, yes it is God's plan.

First, I'm impressed by ya'll interest and knowledge of my little country. Puts me to shame in how little I always feel I know about the US internal affairs.
Now, I am dissapointed. Close to Half of my country is dissapointed right now. That's how it is in democracy I guess.

Isis on our borders and Obama weakness towards the Islam extremist in one hand, and Israel delegitimacy by the extreme left in the other hand have mannaged to turn this elections into a matter of security instead of economics and prosperity.

What Obama can do is not veto any more UN policy moves against Israel. In all likelihood Palestine can make it's case now to the UN.
