I beat the Ninja Turtles game maybe ten times back in the day. It was definitely tough, especially the corridor in the technodrome leading up to Shredder. For some reason, I never had many problems beating the final boss; I died most often in that corridor. I never needed to use those special weapons either. The trick was to get Shredder to hop up onto one of those platforms and then assault him from below with Donatello (or hop onto the platform yourself and deal death from above). Big D was always my boss killer. The other 3 turtles were just fodder to get through the levels.
I got to Shredder once, but after that could never get past the first section of the technodrome. Another time I was playing and got to the airport level and my grandma tripped over the plug and cut the power to the NES. I was not happy.
I really hated the original TMNT game--especially that swimming part. I soo identify with this video (warning: LOTS of cussing). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XjUz8IT0CYg
You can save these to your computer if you can find them. I have Nesticle, which is an Emulator for NES. I actually put the emulator on a disk, along with Final Fantasy and took it to work. I beat that game 3-4 times (yes I had that much spare time on my hands), and even once with 4 White Mages. As for TMNT, I may have gotten to the airport 3-4 times but could never make it past. Maybe one day I'll try it again, but that game has driven me so insane, I don't know if I could handle it! Pugs
i´ve only made it to this "yellow room" inside the technodrome. is shredder located far away from there?
oh my god that "angry nintendo nerd" rules.. i remember playing ALL of those games as a kid and being SO pissed
That's right. I am sorry... I didn't even notice SUPER was below. Thanks. Barry with 350 yards in one game.
Twin Cobra was always my favorite. I still to this day never got past the Tank boss at the end of the 4th level. its just an assault of bombs I could never dodge even with a super power up and 4-5 extra lives. My biggest enemy usually turned out to be the NES itself resetting on me while I was heading up to face him with about 8 lives and a super blue power up that would have ****ed his ass. ... Damn I need to kill that piece of **** tank.
I beat Shredder finally a couple years ago. I was on my last fatigue bar. It was luck man. That game is very difficult.
