I don't mean to show off my nerd cred, but B'Elanna Torres was a the chief engineer, not a science officer, and Dianna Troy was the counselor, not the communications officer. Team B would have two people doing jobs they weren't trained for, beyond the fact that the team sucks.
Someone didn't read my complete original post. This point has been addressed. Also, it's Deanna, not Dianna. . . . Team A was mine. My only concern is that there is a distinct lack of emotion and "people skills" on my team with the android/vulcan/borg/angry klingon/crazy scotsman combo. Picard is an awesome diplomat, but even he might have a hard time holding them all together. Also, the fact that the Doctor is not a real person was a bit worrisome to me, but I think he's much more skilled than Bones so I had to give him the edge. Regarding team B, I'm surprised she reached for so many Voyager members. I would have left Harry Kim on the bench for sure. I think the Kirk/Riker/Paris trio would be very dynamic and could come up with a lot of creative solutions. They also definitely have better piloting skills and could probably outmaneuver my crew, although Data and Spock's precision could possibly give me the edge there. Also, Tuvok is bad ass so I can't fault her much there. She also thought about taking Janeway as a 1st officer but decided that she and Kirk would end up driving each other nuts.
Well, you misspelled B'Elanna so we're even. I don't think an engineer could handle the position of science officer. Especially one who quit on their training before graduating from school. She was barely an engineer in the show. I'm positive Deanna couldn't handle communications officer. She could emote and ask you about your feelings. That's about it. I never saw the slightest indication that she knew anything at all about communications protocols or any of the technical side of that job.
LOL @ Tuvok, Chief of Security #2 team is awesome at the top with Kirk/Riker, wow the universe would be in trouble. Too many Voyager, people though. No wonder, nobody ever took Voyager seriously. He's not the only reason, though.
The series wasn't great, but it had 7-of-9 and one of the coolest battles and "oh crap!" moments when the Borg and Species 8472 clashed.
Man, reading this thread sure bring up old memories. But it's no fun with a 2-team draft. Gotta have at least 4 teams if you want to do a serious fantasy draft. Btw, I actually like Voyager. Probably because it's the only Star Trek show I followed from the beginning. But TNG is definitely my favorite by far.
Dream Cast: Captain: Jean-Luc Picard - TNG 1st Officer: Kira - DS9 Chief Medical Officer: Bones - ST Chief Engineer: Montgomery Scott - ST Operations Officer: Data - TNG Tactical: Worf - TNG Chief of Security: Odo - DS9 Science Officer: Spock - ST Navigation/Helm: Hikaru Sulu - ST Communications: Troi - TNG
Seconded. No other security officer could touch his skills. Also like Kira as 1st O. She would be best at keeping sh-t in line. DS9 definitely had some keepers. The real queston is, who wins for Morale Officer/Comedic Relief out of Quark, Neelix, and Guinan?
DS9 was the best Star Trek show, but it had no great characters - just great stories. Case and point, Benjamin Sisko.. a horrible character.. and i could never get over how bad the actor was. cringe. Voyager on the other hand had great characters and weak stories. Well.. I guess just two great characters... but those two characters were the BEST out of all the star trek series. In a draft, I would choose The Doctor #1 hands down.
Team A by a mile. Nowhere close. This would be mine: Captain: Benjamin Sisko - DS9 1st Officer: Kira Nerys- DS9 Chief Medical Officer: The Doctor - Voyager Chief Engineer: Miles O'Brien - DS9 Operations Officer: Data - TNG Tactical: Worf - TNG Chief of Security: Odo - DS9 Science Officer: Spock - ST Navigation/Helm: Hikaru Sulu - ST Communications: Uhura - ST Also... BADASS WATCHING EVERYONE'S BACK: Garak - DS9
Wha wha wha wha WHAAAAT!? Avery Brooks was/is a great actor, and Sisko was a great character. In fact, DS9 was full of great characters and Voyager was full of awful ones. The only *decent* characters Voyager had were the Doctor (awesome), Kes, 7 of 9, and Tuvok (and 7 of 9 replaced Kes, so only 3 decent characters at any one time!). The rest I kept hoping would die on an away mission. The Janeway/Chakotay combo made me want to rip my own eyes out.

Oh, and Worf was technically a DS9 character, so this draft does include all four series except Enterprise. And that's ok.
