It's been rough for Nets fans, they haven't fielded a good team since like '03, and now that the Knicks are good again, it doesn't look like they're in position to capture new fans. Williams-Morrow-Jones-Nene-Lopez isn't too bad though, maybe a 7 or an 8th seed. If they can somehow get fit Howard in with Nene, then I'd venture and say that they'd be better then the Knicks.
I think a Chuck Hayes/Al Jefferson/Luis Scola rotation is pretty nasty... (Kevin McHale loves Al Jefferson too)
I've always wanted Jefferson, was hoping we were going to make a play for him last offseason*, but I think we can get him now, Jazz probably going to trade their vets to open up space for Kanter and Favors. * That really pissed me off, I wanted to send Battier to Miami, Beasley to Minnesota, and Jefferson here. The deal probably would have worked too, seeing as Beasley was all Minnesota wanted.
I don't really get why we want Nene unless we plan on trading Scola or Patterson. He's a PF before he's a center. When the Nuggets went small he was their C, when they played standard it was Martin or Andersen. I'd rather spend the money getting a dedicated Center like Dalembert for much cheaper. Between Scola, Patterson, and Hill we get enough production from the 4.
everyone needs a good brazilian but for close to a max contract you have got to be joking, if the owners really are serious about not losing more there no way a team offers him what he is after
A wise man once said: We are all as smart as our dumbest competitor. Just one team needs to offer near the max and the deal is done.
