    Hey Nuggets4,

I actually think your team will be a force to reckon with. I always thought that the Nugs were a soft team. Played pretty offense, but didn't really have much toughness/defense. I thought that the addition of Kmart added that needed "toughness."

I look at Nene and see a "Hakeem-lite." They guy is just loonggggg. He has nice moves and is incredibly athletic. He just needs to learn how to rebound and block a few shots once in a while! :(

    Nice team...

    Andre Miller (PG)
    Voshon Lenard (SG)
    Carmelo Anthony (SF)
    Marcus Camby (F-C)
    Kenyon Martin (PF)
    Nenê (F-C)

    Francisco Elson (B)
    Earl Boykins (B)
    Mark Pope (B)
    Nikoloz Tskitishvili (B)
    Rodney White (B)

Because K-Mart is making the max, and Camby is hauling in decent change. Two years from now Melo will be clamoring for a Max extension. Obviously Nene is going to want to get paid, and if he does then that's a lot of money devoted to the frontcourt.

If Nene can be traded to bring in a sweet shooting 2 guard (like Redd or Allen), then I don't see why Kiki wouldn't pursue it.

Well, um, duh. If we can get an upper level SG for Nene, DONE DEAL. To say we're trying to trade him though? No way. ESPECIALLY, like I mentioned above, with Camby's injury history (apparently, my idea of consecutive 1-year contracts wasn't thought highly of).

Funny you mention this. We were discussing him on the Nugs board today, so someone e-mailed Kiki about it. Here's the conversation:

So to answer your question......

I admit that I haven’t seen a lot of Nuggets games but I from what I’ve seen Nene does most of his scoring off the break and from the wing. I don’t recall him setting up on the block often. Martin is not a low block player. Period. He does all of his scoring on the move, off break downs in plays, and off penatration. He has absolutely no jump shot. So playing him up top is an absolute waste. Now maybe Nene has a jump shot that I haven’t seen much of having not seen many Nuggets games, but I know Martin doesn’t have a jump shot and he doesn’t have low post moves. So he absolutely has to do his scoring from where Nene gets his.

The key obviously to the deal is can Nene make the transition and I just don’t see him playing center. Just because you are a big man with skills doesn’t mean you are a center. There is a lack of centers in the NBA for a reason. Because there aren’t a lot of big man learning the skills to be a center. And you just can’t put someone there who’s never been a center in his career. Its not that easy of a transition.

Nene and Martin fight, they enjoy fighting.
Sad... there's no tough guy on Rockets.
What can we do if we are involved in a fight? who will be our boxer?:(

Wasn't T-Mac about to whoop Martin's butt a few years back? I know McGrady can fight, but i don't know if he'd be willing to fight for his teammates...

right. Nene didn't set up on the block as frequently as Martin, but from Nuggets games I've seen, his help defence/steals are pretty impressive!

Nowadays, positions ain't that determinative on the court than before. Playing two pfs isn't a bad choice for Nuggests according to their uptempo style. Remember Najera? he always make troubles for Yao everytime they met, so which position do you think Najera played when he defend Yao @ Dallas games, hm?

Also, Nene is an agile pf with high FG%(#5, I remember), his low post footwork is ok, which enable him to do a competent job at Center or be a nice pf combo with K.Martin,imo.

What's the big deal about fighting? This is BB, not boxing.
BTW, KMart is a phoney. You are not tough just because you can thump your chest after a dunk!

i think The nugs will be a good team, i do think this will be a problem. They have a very good frontcourt.

Nuggets4 will elson get any minutes? or do you think he will be dumbed?

Yeah, this is K-Mart we are talking about. I am sure not many teamates fight the first day of practice together. You cant fix a hole on the wall.

I'd use nene as a backup center/pf. Since both martin and camby had a better season last year than nene, nene should work his way into the starting lineup. If he b****es about it, then oh well... there's no i in team.

I expect KMart will play some 3, Nene some 4. They could be a hellacious tandem. Kiki has done wonders with that roster.

They scare me as do the Sun and the Jazz. Of course Mini and Spurs are a load and a half.

There will be top quality teams sitting home for the playoffs from the wild West this season. (East has some top quality, but still lacks depth. Several of their p/o teams would be lottery fodder out here.)

K-Mart was later seen clutching his eyes and sarcastically yelling: "My eyyyyyyyes, my eyyyyyyyyes":D

Tim Thomas is a phony and a joke. I wouldn't quote or back up a lazy ass like Tim Thomas. He's a multi-milllion dollar waste.

What has happened that makes Martin NOT tough? He has done as much as Ron Artest. What has Ron Artest done that makes him "tougher" then Kenyon Martin? Until I see someone take Kenyon Martin down or have him back down from a fight how can anyone call him a fake? Same goes for Ron Artest.

McGrady wasn't about to do anything with Martin. I like McGrady, but he isn't a fighter. I don't think we need someone who can fight, but a tough guy would be nice. People call Juwan Howard soft but Howard is willing to fight I believe to back up his teammates, he definitely won't back down.

That was my point. Enforcer doesn't mean that the guy has to be best best defender of all time. Enforcer can be a player that frustrates (given that the NBA has limited dirty plays in the "soft" 90's). Thus, the definition of "enforcer" has been toned down since the late 80's.

dirty player = Enforcer. Same effect. The point is to frustrate. As he did back during the championship days. Thug, trouble-maker, irritator...all used to take particular players out of their games.

I have the Nugs in for 3rd in the West, and I'm still waiting for anyone to disabuse me of that notion.
